Robby Reveals His Biggest Fears In The Pitt Season 2’s Next Episode Promo

The official trailer for the season finale of The Pitt (Episode 13) reveals what Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle) is truly thinking before he takes a three-month leave of absence. The episode centers around Dr. Robby’s last shift before his planned cross-country motorcycle trip. Although he views it as a relaxing break, some of his colleagues at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center (PTMC) worry it might be a suicide mission, noticing concerning behavior like his refusal to wear a helmet and his increased irritability during his last day.

In a recent episode of The Pitt, viewers learned more about Dr. Robby’s declining mental state. Through quiet farewells and a candid conversation with Dr. Jack Abbott (Shawn Hatosy), he expressed a need to ensure his return, subtly hinting at a struggle with his mental health.

HBO Max has released a preview for the season finale of The Pitt. The promo shows Dr. Robby finishing up his work before taking a break from the show.

Around the 26-second mark, Robby appears to be having a difficult moment, visibly upset and seemingly hitting something on the table. This led Dana to try and soothe him.

Dana suggested Robby take a break, but he refused, explaining he was simply too busy.

Robby then explained his concerns about leaving for three months, specifically questioning whether Al-Hashimi could handle the responsibilities of a primary attending physician and if Langdon might experience a setback.

Honestly, I’m really worried about whether Al-Hashimi is the right person to be in charge here. And I’m also concerned that Langdon might fall back into old habits. It’s just a feeling I have, but it’s a pretty strong one, and I can’t shake it.

Nurse Dana: “Is there anything else?”

Dr. Robby: “Yeah, you.”

After Emma was assaulted, Dana acted impulsively by giving the patient a sedative to try and help her. Robby is understandably worried that Dana might make similar decisions while he’s away on sabbatical.

This promotion has people wondering if Robby might change his plans for his three-month bike trip. He worried that leaving could cause problems at the PTMC Emergency Department, and it seems those concerns might be coming true.

There Is a Deeper Meaning Why Robby Is Contemplating About Not Leaving

Dr. Robby is incredibly tired as his shift nears its end, but he finds it hard to leave. He’s focused on making sure everything is properly handed off to the night team, and it highlights his dedication to the Emergency Department. At the same time, he’s longing for a break and some time away.

Okay, so the trailer for next week’s episode – the one that finally confirms the digital board is coming back – really hints that Robby’s about to hit a wall. Honestly, it makes total sense. Considering everything he’s been dealing with on the shift, plus still processing the trauma from Pittfest, it feels like all that’s finally catching up to him. I’m expecting a really emotionally charged episode.

The PTMC Emergency Room is a deeply complicated place for Robby – it’s where his past trauma both haunts him and keeps him stuck. While a break might seem helpful, his struggles with suicidal thoughts suggest it could actually make things worse.

I’m getting seriously worried about Robby. All these unresolved plot points surrounding him and his team are starting to paint a pretty suspicious picture, and I have a feeling things are about to get really dark for him. It feels like everything’s building to a major turning point, and not a good one.

Ultimately, Robby needs to rely on the people who care about him, such as Dana and Dr. Abbott, and accept that he can’t handle all the pressure of the emergency room alone.
