Lee Cronin’s The Mummy releases new trailer and posters
Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for the upcoming film The Mummy, directed by Lee Cronin. The trailer, which is a minute and 28 seconds long, reveals the story: a journalist named Charlie’s daughter, Katie, vanishes, and after eight years, unexpectedly returns—but with a terrifying and disturbing change.
The video starts with Cannon calling out for his daughter. It then shows Katie preparing her food at a picnic, moments before she vanishes. The rest of the footage focuses on the main puzzle of the film: Katie being trapped inside an ancient, 3000-year-old sarcophagus, which has turned her into a dangerous creature, and the problems she will cause for her family.
New posters have been released online, showcasing Katie and her frightening appearance. They also confirm the movie will be available in IMAX, AMC Dolby Cinema, 4DX, and ScreenX formats.
Lee Cronin’s new take on The Mummy will be released in North American cinemas on April 17, 2026. This follows his 2023 film, Evil Dead Rise.
Cronin hinted in a recent interview that his new Mummy film will be quite different from earlier installments. He described it as a “mystery” and a “puzzle box,” explaining that this unique aspect was a major reason he wanted to direct it (according to IGN).
Cronin not only directed the film but also wrote the script. James Wan and Jason Blum served as producers through their companies, Atomic Monster and Blumhouse Productions, with New Line Cinema also involved in production.
Jack Reynor and Natalie Grace play the main characters, Charlie and Katie. The film also features Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Veronica Falcón, May Elghety, Shylo Molina, Billie Roy, and Hayat Kamille.
