An orangutan trailer swings by….
We’ve just received the trailer for Disneynature’s new film, about orangutans! Narrated by Josh Gad, it will premiere on Disney+ this Earth Day, April 22, 2026. The trailer follows Indah, a young orangutan, as she ventures out on her own for the first time, discovering courage, family, and where she belongs. As part of Disney’s Earth Month celebration, the film aims to share the beauty of our planet with audiences.
Orangutan as part of Earth Day…
To mark the release of “Orangutan,” the Disney Conservation Fund is providing support to Wildlife Asia and the Leuser Conservation Forum to protect Sumatran orangutans, elephants, and tigers across over 5 million acres of forest. This funding will also help restore the Ketambe Research Centre and assist the rangers who were affected by severe flooding. The research centre and its team played a vital role in the making of “Orangutan,” providing daily on-location support and expertise to the filmmakers.
Disneynature’s “Orangutan” invites you into the lush rainforests of Southeast Asia to meet a captivating community of playful orangutans high among the treetops.
Behind the scenes…..
Directed by Mark Linfield and Vanessa Berlowitz, and produced by the same duo alongside Roy Conli, “Orangutan” features a beautiful score by Nitin Sawhney. This brand-new Disney+ original film offers thrilling adventures, touching moments, and an intimate view of a vibrant jungle filled with animals. It’s reminiscent of classic Disney wildlife documentaries and is planned to be the first in a series of similar nature films for the streaming service.
