PlayStation players who enjoy Resident Evil can now get some free gifts to celebrate the game’s 30th anniversary. The first Resident Evil game came out on PlayStation in 1996, and to mark the occasion, Capcom is partnering with PlayStation to offer fans a collection of free digital items. While the remake of Resident Evil Requiem was a major part of the celebration, these freebies are another way to enjoy the milestone.
PlayStation players can get a set of 10 free avatars celebrating Resident Evil’s 30th anniversary until April 30th. The avatars showcase five iconic characters – Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield, Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine, and Ada Wong – each with two different looks. Half of the avatars are based on new artwork created for the anniversary, and the other half feature designs from the Resident Evil animated movies.
How to Get These Free Resident Evil Accessories

Getting these Resident Evil avatars is easy. Just add Resident Evil Requiem to your wishlist or buy it on the PlayStation Store. Then, visit the promotional website to enter the giveaway. PlayStation will confirm your entry. This offer is available to players on both PS5 and PS4, even though Requiem can only be played on PS5.
The main thing to know about this promotion is that you can’t get these avatars right now. PlayStation plans to send them out sometime in late June, or possibly even later. This is a strange approach for PlayStation, as they’ve never released free avatars this way before. When you do receive your avatar, it will be through a unique code sent to your email or as a notification in the PlayStation App. This code is only for your PlayStation account and can’t be shared with others.
