Approximately two years have passed since the initial airing of Annika on BBC One, and now its second season has started streaming on U&Alibi.
Now, finally, season 2 is also coming to the BBC.
On Saturday, August 2nd at 9:10 PM, the initial installment of season 2 will be broadcasted on BBC One. Additionally, all six episodes will become accessible on BBC iPlayer starting from that same day.
The show, reminiscent of BBC Radio 4’s audio drama Annika Stranded, features Nicola Walker portraying Annika, a police detective in charge of the fictitious Glasgow-set Marine Homicide Squad.
In addition to Walker, some essential actors for the second season are Katie Leung portraying DC Blair Ferguson, Jamie Sives taking on the role of DS Michael McAndrews, Ukweli Roach playing DS Tyrone Clarke, and Kate Dickie assuming the character of DCI Diane Oban.

This season boasts prominent roles for two actors from Doctor Who, specifically Varada Sethu as Detective Chief Inspector Harper Weston and Paul McGann portraying Jake Strathearn.
Ever since season 2 debuted on U&Alibi, no updates have emerged about a possible third season for the series.
Despite the fact that season 2 concluded with a massive plot twist, feel free to delve into it if you’ve watched all the episodes and don’t mind spoilers.
After the show’s airing, Walker has since taken roles in Mary & George, and reprised her starring part in The Split for two episodes set in Barcelona.
As a devoted cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that not only has she been weaving tales of captivating crime stories through her latest documentary film, but also, she’s all set to bring an unusual twist to romance in the upcoming anti-romcom “Alice and Steve” for Disney+.
