Rejected Marvel Movie Pitch Would Have Settled A Huge Hulk Powers Debate

The Hulk is a hugely popular Marvel hero who’s appeared in many films, not just the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He’s been a central figure in Marvel comics for years, and his incredible strength makes him one of Marvel’s most powerful characters. However, some other heroes in the Marvel Universe are considered just as strong. This has led to a lot of debate among fans about where the Hulk truly stands in terms of overall power within the movies.

Michael Chiklis, who played The Thing in the older movies, recently shared that a live-action fight between Hulk and The Thing was almost made. He revealed at a fan event that Fox had considered a movie based on the famous rivalry from the Marvel comics. While the project never happened, Chiklis expressed his disappointment, saying he thought it would have been a really entertaining film.

Who Would Win in a Hulk Vs The Thing Movie

Given the long history of battles between these two heroes in comic books, a movie adaptation could draw from many different storylines. Both the Fantastic Four and the Hulk have been portrayed in various ways on film, so the specific version of the characters would greatly influence the movie’s plot. Actor Michael Chiklis mentioned discussions about a spin-off happening between his first and second appearances as the Thing, suggesting the film would likely have pitted his version of the character against Eric Bana’s Hulk.

As a fan, I’ve always thought about how a fight between the Hulk and the Thing would go. Based on their first movies, Hulk seems like the obvious winner. But comic book history shows the Thing has beaten Hulk a few times, so it’s not impossible! Still, if they ever made a movie of it, I suspect it wouldn’t be the epic battle we’re all hoping for – it’d probably be a bit of a letdown, honestly.

A movie teaming up those two major Marvel heroes could have been a massive event for fans. It would have connected separate Marvel films, creating a shared universe much earlier than the Marvel Cinematic Universe we know today. The film likely wouldn’t have had a clear winner, as both heroes are incredibly powerful. While the story would probably have ended with both heroes still looking strong, it’s disappointing that this crossover never happened.
