As a dedicated Gran Turismo 7 gamer, I’m thrilled to share that the team at Polyphony Digital has just dropped update 1.61! This fresh patch offers an exciting array of new goodies, such as three swanky new rides and enticing racing events to keep us on our toes!
The main attractions of this update are:
1. The exceptionally rare ’05 NISMO R34 GT-R Z-Tune, a car manufactured in the real world by Nissan’s performance division, with only 19 units ever produced.
2. The ’22 Honda N-ONE RS.
3. The ’22 Nissan Qashqai Tekna 190 2wd e-Power.
Each of these vehicles is a significant part of the update.
Without a doubt, the R34 GT-R Z-Tune steals the show following this update. Designed on the foundation of the R34 Skyline GT-R, it was crafted by Nissan to mark their 20th anniversary in 2004. This vehicle is equipped with the RB26DETT Kai-Z2 engine, featuring a 2.8L configuration similar to that of the GT500 class GT-R race cars from around that era.
The car’s framework was engineered for both dependability and speed. Additional spot welds were strategically placed around critical areas such as the door frame, while vulnerable regions susceptible to heating during welding were reinforced using molded carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) components. In terms of handling, the car boasts a suspension system provided by SACHS, enabling it to reach the goal of 1.6G braking force.
The updated Nissan model joining the Qashqai series is the third-generation Qashqai Tekna 190 2wd e-Power, which boasts a more spacious design compared to its predecessors. It’s built on the CMF-C/D3 platform, providing a balance between a comfortable ride and agile handling.
Running the car is accomplished through Nissan’s exclusive e-Power series-hybrid system, where an engine operates a generator that creates electricity to run the vehicle’s electric motors, causing them to spin the wheels.
Lastly, the upcoming update will introduce the ’22 Honda N-ONE RS – a second-generation vehicle belonging to a series that was initially designed to embody the themes of Honda’s original N360. In this latest model, we find a sports version of the N-ONE, as signified by the ‘RS’ in its title, which represents Road Sailing. This indicates that the engine located at the front of the car is both turbocharged and equipped with a front-wheel drive system, coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission.
Besides the cars, the game Gran Turismo 7 is adding three fresh events to its World Circuits game mode – Lightweight K-Cup Nürburgring Nordschleife, Japanese FF Challenge 450: Alsace – Test Course, and Race of Turbo Sportscars: Fuji International Speedway. The racing AI agent Sophy has undergone enhancements and can now be utilized in an additional racetrack through Quick Race and Custom Race modes: High Speed Ring.
As a gamer, here’s how I might put it: “In this latest update, I’ve got some cool new stuff to play with! Lone Pine has been added as part of the spotlight in Scapes, which is definitely something I’m looking forward to exploring. Plus, there’s a fresh coat of paint for the ’17 Lexus RC F GT3 in the Lexus Showroom – it’s now sporting the ANEST IWATA Racing 2025 base color. Can’t wait to hit the track with that!
