Two seasons of Halle Berry-led Extant series gets Netflix release date
Extant, featuring the X-Men actress in the lead role, is all set to arrive on Netflix.
As per What’s on Netflix, the anticipated debut of this science fiction series on their streaming service falls on August 18, 2025. Yet, it appears that the show will only be accessible on Netflix for a brief period.
2014’s film titled “Extant” revolves around Halle Berry’s character, Molly Woods. She is a skilled astronaut who spends 13 months living alone in space and then returns to Earth. However, an unexpected development occurs when she finds herself mysteriously pregnant. As noted by Rotten Tomatoes, the plot thickens as the experiments conducted by Woods in space appear to trigger events that will eventually shape the course of human history.
Regardless of boasting an illustrious ensemble led by Berry, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Pierce Gagnon, Grace Gummer, Goran Visnjic, and others, the series came to an abrupt halt when CBS decided to terminate it following its second season finale.
As reported by Deadline, Glenn Geller, who was previously president at CBS, announced that the network, in collaboration with the creators of Extant, have chosen to bring the story to an end following the thrilling and satisfying conclusion of the last season. Geller further stated that they were pleased with the show’s success in the sci-fi genre and wanted to express their appreciation for Halle Berry’s dedication and support throughout the series.
Additionally, Halle Berry showed her delight over the success of Extant. She shared that she felt “proud of what we managed to achieve.
