Influencer Hannah Carnat-Gronnerud’s Fiancé Dies Weeks Before Wedding

Hannah Carnat-Gronnerud is facing a tremendous loss. 

On July 17th, it was sadly announced that the influencer’s fiancé, Ian de Metz, passed away. This tragic news came six weeks before their wedding, as shared by their friend Natalie Berard on Hannah’s Instagram.

In her post on July 20, she expressed that Ian had sadly passed away in a workplace incident. She requested everyone’s understanding and support as they deal with this tragic situation, expressing their ongoing affection towards Hannah and Ian’s families, and asking for their compassionate thoughts and prayers.

Which Hannah—best known for her body positivity content—is eternally grateful for.  

She expressed gratitude on her Instagram stories on July 22, saying ‘I currently don’t have anything to offer, but I want to thank you.’ She is overwhelmed by the affection that so many of you have for Ian and herself. Thank you for your heartfelt messages.

The unfortunate incident occurred barely a month following when Hannah posted on Instagram, “Just 68 days left before I tie the knot with my beloved!

She enthusiastically declared, ‘My one true soulmate, my angel child, Babyboo, is my eternal love and everything to me! I’m utterly captivated by him.’ She exclaimed, ‘We are one and the same!’

During her wedding preparations, she invited her 63,000 followers to join in this exciting adventure. This journey consisted of selecting the perfect dress, experimenting with nail designs for the big day, and proposing to her bridesmaids.

For Hannah, Ian was her biggest cheerleader as she navigated her issues with her body image. 

In my own words, I’d express that if someone were to inquire about the impact of my weight gain and loss over the course of our 6-year relationship on our bond, I’d initially say it hasn’t significantly altered our dynamic. However, should the question delve deeper, I’d likely admit that this journey has served as a powerful demonstration of Ian’s profound love for me, appreciating me just as I am.

She went on to say, ‘This has increased my faith not only in his affection for me, but also in his conviction that I’ll continually develop and that I matter enough for him to be present.’

And Ian will always be remembered for that integrity.
