Professor Layton and the New World of Steam Launching in 2026, Also Coming to PS5 and PC

After a year of silence, Level-5 has shared fresh details and gameplay footage for Professor Layton and the New World of Steam. The game will be released this year on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC.

In the recent Level-5 Vision 2026 Craftsmanship stream, the Professor and Luke were shown reuniting in Steam Bison, America, after being separated for a year. This town is booming with new steam-powered technology, but it’s also full of secrets. A mysterious phantom is terrorizing the streets, and the wealthy Elida has been kidnapped.

Players can anticipate the most puzzles ever included in a game from this series. They’ll tackle challenges like planning escapes and navigating classic side-scrolling levels, alongside other new features. These include cinematic 3D cutscenes, mouse compatibility on the Switch 2, a helpful Coin Radar, and improved character movement.

The game offers challenging puzzles, but it also provides helpful hints and a memo feature to help you remember important details. Its polished presentation is further enhanced by a beautiful theme song created by the renowned composer Joe Hisaishi, famous for his work on titles like Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Ni no Kuni 2.

We’ll share more specific information, including the release date, in the next few months as we finish development.
