The Spring 2026 anime season is starting strong with the return of Wistoria: Wand and Sword for its second season! April promises to be a great month for anime fans, and as usual, many new shows will be available to stream on Crunchyroll. Following a successful first season in 2024, the sequel to Wistoria: Wand and Sword is one of the most awaited anime releases this year. The series is adapted from a light novel by Fujino Omori, also known for the popular Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? A second season was announced immediately after the first season’s finale, and more information – including a beautiful promotional image by artist Toshi Aoi – was revealed during the anime’s first anniversary event in July 2025.
Last month, a new image and video trailer for the anime were released, giving fans a preview of the opening and ending songs. The opening theme, “BELIEVERS,” is performed by the J-pop group ASH DA HERO, and the ending theme, “Reachlight,” is by Shuyi. With the anime’s return approaching, the original novel’s author, Fujino Omori, and the manga artist, Toshi Aoi, are sharing their thoughts on the series and the upcoming second season.
Wistoria: Wand and Sword Creator Talks About Season 2’s Arc

In a recent interview with Mantan Web, the pair discussed their collaboration and the anime series. When asked about Season 2, Omori explained that the director told the cast it would be exciting from the start. He described the upcoming ‘Terminaria arc’ as being made with the scope of a movie, noting that it’s been building since the very beginning of the story. He encouraged fans to stay tuned to see what happens next!
I’ve been following the production of this new anime season, and it’s clear both creators are deeply involved – even more so than they were with the first season. I remember Omori actually wrote some original scenes for the first season, and Aoi handled the storyboard for the opening and the first episode, plus contributed key animation. This time around, Fujino has been really building up the graduation arc, hinting at a big event that’s going to significantly affect Will’s story.
Season 2 will be significantly more action-packed, and both the show’s creators and the animation team are working harder to make that happen. The new season picks up two months after the major school-wide event known as the Praxis incident, and life at the academy has returned to normal as students get back to their studies.
Will is working hard to succeed, but he constantly faces new challenges. As graduation approaches, things have become much more difficult for him. He’s at a disadvantage because he struggles with even simple magic, which is slowing him down. He absolutely needs to graduate to become a Magia Vander, but with graduation comes more threats to the world’s peace.
