Following its announcement earlier this week, Brain Jar’s popular rhythm-action game, Dead As Disco, is confirmed to be in development for consoles, including the PS5, according to a company spokesperson.
This game is a rhythmic beat-’em-up inspired by titles like Hi-Fi Rush, Yakuza, and Sifu. Every punch and kick moves to the music, creating a uniquely engaging experience.
You can add your own music to the PC version of the game, but consoles will likely only feature the built-in soundtrack, which offers a variety of different music genres.
Here’s the blurb:
In Dead as Disco, you play as Charlie Disco, a former star trying to get back in the spotlight after being overshadowed by his old bandmates, now musical legends known as the Idols. You’ll battle the Idols in fast-paced, music-driven combat while navigating a world shattered by the pressures of fame, music, and broken trust. It’s a classic beat ’em up experience with a unique musical twist.
Everything we’ve seen of this so far looks fantastic, with smooth animations and impactful sound effects.
While the developers are planning a PlayStation 5 release, it’s likely still a ways off. They haven’t announced a date for finishing the PC version, and bringing it to PS5 will take additional time. Still, it’s positive to hear that it’s in the works.
