Well now, the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act ain’t no mere trinket to brag about at the county fair. It’s Washington’s latest attempt to lasso the whole wild herd of digital assets and pin it down with rules straighter than a telegraph wire. The thing is marched forward toward a Senate Banking Committee markup in mid-April, after snagging bipartisan support in the House in July 2025-proof, perhaps, that even a stubborn ox can pull a plough if there’s a good reason and a lot of papers behind it.
The plan would rope most digital commodities into the CFTC’s corral and leave securities under the SEC’s watchful eye, all in the effort to prune the long-standing fog that’s driven firms offshore. Supporters, including industry leaders and lawmakers, reckon action will come soon enough, like a spring shower after a drought. Senator Cynthia Lummis says plain, honest rules are crucial to attract innovation back to the United States and to rebuild the market’s confidence.
