Xbox’s upcoming exclusive game – though it’s technically only exclusive to Xbox consoles now, as they no longer have games exclusive to their platform – will be confirmed as working well on the Steam Deck when it launches. This means Valve has thoroughly tested the game on the Steam Deck and confirmed it plays smoothly from beginning to end, using the device’s screen and controls. While some previously ‘Verified’ games haven’t performed perfectly, the ‘Verified’ label is generally a positive indicator of good compatibility.
Despite not being made by Xbox themselves, the game Replaced will launch tomorrow, April 14th, as an exclusive for Xbox consoles. Developed by Belarusian studio Mad Cat Studios and published by Thunderful Games, this game has been highly anticipated by Xbox fans. Originally announced in 2021 with a planned 2022 release, it’s finally arriving after a four-year wait. It will cost just $20 and will also be available to play for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, along with two other new games.
Free Demo Is Promising
I’m really excited about Replaced, it’s the first game coming out of this studio, but I’m trying to keep my expectations realistic. It looks amazing, but it’s always a little risky with a brand new developer. Luckily, they released a free demo, and people are loving it! It’s got an 87% approval rating based on over 870 user reviews, which is seriously impressive. Maybe the demo is just a particularly polished part of the game, but I’m hoping it’s a good sign of how the full release will be received. Fingers crossed!
Just because a game is enjoyable doesn’t guarantee it will perform well on the Steam Deck. However, this game isn’t expected to be very demanding, so it should run smoothly on the device.
The game Replaced will be available on PC Game Pass when it releases, and currently, that’s the only subscription service offering it.
