Even skilled players struggle on Tau Ceti IV in Marathon, but Cryo Archive is far more challenging. The Recon Shell hasn’t been performing well lately, but a new trailer suggests upcoming improvements might be quite significant.
The Recon class is designed for players who enjoy actively seeking out and finding their opponents. It uses tools like wall-penetrating pings, footprint tracking, and a devastating drone to locate and eliminate enemies. However, it’s important to remember that other players can use these same abilities against you, especially when you’re trying to complete a run in Marathon.
As a player, I always feel way more confident when I have a Recon on my team, especially when we’re running a Duo. It’s definitely not the easiest Shell to master – it takes some practice to really get the hang of it. Honestly, it’s almost as powerful as the Thief, which is high praise! I’m really curious to see how the new drone plays after Bungie makes some adjustments to balance things out in the next few days.
The game Marathon is now available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. While initial reports suggested a development cost of over $200 million, it now seems the actual cost was closer to $250 million.
