Brandi Glanville Details Urgent Care Trip for Garlic Stuck in Her Ear

Brandi Glanville played this home remedy a little too much by ear.

Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star recently shared that she had to go to the doctor over Easter weekend. She’d tried a home remedy to get rid of a cold, but it backfired when a piece of garlic got lodged in her ear.

She explained on her podcast, Unfiltered, that she spent Easter dealing with a painful issue: a piece of garlic stuck in her ear. She tried to remove it herself, but only pushed it in further, eventually requiring a visit to urgent care to have it taken out.

Brandi explained her illness by blaming her 18-year-old son, Jake, for giving her a cold, and her 22-year-old son, Mason, for suggesting she try garlic as a remedy.

Brandi explained that Mason told her he used to put Vicks VapoRub in his nostril when he had a cold, and it helped. She tried it herself, but it burned too much, so she put some in her ear instead. Unfortunately, that also burned, as she’d recently had a laser treatment on her ear.

The woman, 53, explained she was simply trying to relieve sinus congestion. However, she also warned everyone not to take advice from social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook.

After all, as she added, “I have garlic in my brain now.”

Learning her implants had ruptured came as a surprise.

I discovered I had a parasite, which was surprising. I’ve had breast implants for nearly 20 years, and everything seemed normal – they looked and felt fine, and a mammogram didn’t show any issues. It wasn’t until I had an ultrasound that we found something.

She explained she simply thought it wouldn’t hurt to get one more thing checked. ‘I’d already looked into everything else,’ she said. ‘I saw 21 different doctors and spent a lot of money trying to figure it out.’

The reality star has often been open about her health issues. Starting in 2023, Brandi began sharing details about a facial infection she’d been dealing with, which she attributed to a parasite.

For a long time, Brandi couldn’t figure out what was causing her health problem, but in February she discovered it was due to her breast implants leaking.

She explained to TMZ on February 18th that silicone had spread to her lymph nodes, causing a facial infection. The infection was difficult to treat because her lymph nodes were blocked.

Learning her implants had ruptured came as a surprise.

I discovered I had a parasite, which was surprising considering my breast implants have been in for nearly 20 years. Everything seemed okay – they looked and felt normal, and my mammogram didn’t show any problems. It wasn’t until I had an ultrasound that we found something.

Honestly, I was just thinking it couldn’t hurt to look into one more thing, you know? I’d already done everything else. I’ve been to twenty-one different doctors, and I’ve spent a fortune trying to figure things out.

The podcaster hopes, however, that her experience can help others.

She warned that breast implants should be replaced after about ten years, but she chose not to follow that advice. She thought, ‘If it isn’t causing problems, why change it?’ and later regretted that decision, realizing it was a mistake.

Former Total Bellas star Nikki Bella shared that one of her breast implants moved after being hit during an elbow strike from wrestler Piper Niven in a match that took place in July 2025.

She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, saying they would get the issue resolved eventually. She explained to the doctor that as soon as she finished her current commitment, she’d return to address the problem and make sure everything looked its best, because she anticipated needing to showcase it in the future and it couldn’t appear in its current condition.

Lupita Nyong’o, known for her role in 12 Years a Slave, received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids—non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus—in 2014, the same year she won an Academy Award for her performance in the film.

She didn’t reveal her diagnosis until 2025, when she shared on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with it for over ten years.

She explained that girls are often taught to accept period pain as a normal part of being a woman. This leaves many of us dealing with a common issue in silence and feeling like we’re going through it alone.

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she was hospitalized for a hernia. This happens when a gap develops in the abdominal or groin muscles, and in her case, it was caused by wearing very tight pants.

I was so worried to hear that one of my favorite actors from Beverly Hills, 90210 had to have surgery! He shared in April 2025 that his appendix was really close to bursting, and he’s been recovering since. I’m just glad he’s doing better now.

Brian shared in an Instagram video that he recently experienced stomach pain which led him to the emergency room. He explained that his appendix had a hole in it – it hadn’t fully burst, but was very close to doing so.

He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

He described a lingering tingling sensation in his knees and toes during a March 2025 episode of his podcast, Trading Secrets. He explained that just a few weeks or a month prior, he was able to squat 295 pounds, but now he can’t even do a squat or stand on one leg without falling. He compared the feeling to having a stroke.

But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

It all happened so fast! Thankfully, Brendan Rooney was an absolute hero. He immediately jumped into action, quickly assessed my injuries, and got me to the hospital. I ended up with five wounds, and one was dangerously close – less than an inch from my right eye! It was a truly frightening experience, but I’m so grateful for Brendan’s quick thinking and help.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always amazed by how we can use resources around us to improve our wellbeing, and Amy Schumer’s story is a perfect example. She recently shared how the internet, despite often being a tough place, actually helped her uncover a health issue. After noticing some facial puffiness and getting a lot of comments online, doctors started chiming in, expressing concern that she might have Cushing syndrome. It was a surprising situation – being ‘trolled’ by medical professionals! This led Amy to realize she’d been getting steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section, which can sometimes cause Cushing syndrome. She wouldn’t have connected the dots without those online comments! Thankfully, Amy discovered she has a form of Cushing syndrome that will resolve on its own, and she’s now incredibly grateful to be healthy. It just goes to show, sometimes good can come from unexpected places, and listening to your body – and even what others are observing – can be a really positive thing.

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly developed stroke-like symptoms, initially struggling to respond when Justin noticed something was wrong. She couldn’t speak, and the right side of her face began to droop.

Though the symptoms eventually subsided, Hailey went to the hospital for testing. Doctors discovered she’d had a small blood clot travel to her brain, which they identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack), often called a mini-stroke.

Further investigation at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart, known as a patent foramen ovale (PFO). This hole allowed the blood clot to reach her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey has since undergone a successful procedure to close the PFO and is now doing well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.

In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained that the virus affected the nerves in his ear and face, causing paralysis. He showed fans that he couldn’t blink, smile, or move his nostril on the affected side, and that it was becoming increasingly difficult to eat. Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away.

Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well and feeling much better. She described the situation as scary and unexpected, but expressed gratitude that he was going to be okay.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had previously kept private. He explained that while in Atlanta, he suffered a severe headache and asked for aspirin, but then lost consciousness. He doesn’t remember the next 20 days.

Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, was worried and took him to the hospital. Doctors discovered he had a brain bleed that led to a stroke.

After surgery, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair on May 4th, unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed his gratitude for the prayers he received, saying he needed them all.

The reality TV star shared that she briefly stopped breathing while running a mile during the first challenge on the NBC show.

She shared on the show Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser that her memory of the event was fragmented. After that, she remembered only darkness, followed by light, which led her to realize she had died that day.

She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where your body essentially starts to shut down.

While filming the series, she experienced a severe headache at the gym, which quickly escalated. She described feeling violently ill and realizing something was seriously wrong with her brain.

A hospital scan revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She underwent immediate surgery to repair it, but the pain was excruciating. During her recovery, she struggled with aphasia, leaving her unable to speak coherently.

Though she left the hospital after a month, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had grown and required a second surgery. This procedure initially failed, leading to a massive bleed and putting her life at risk. Doctors had to perform a more invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull.

Fortunately, Emilia is now fully recovered and says she is “at a hundred per cent.”

Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, recently shared how thankful she is for her family’s support after suffering a stroke in January 2024. She immediately contacted them, sending a text and a picture, and they quickly came to her aid, as she told Will Marfuggi of TopMob News in December 2024. While she could have gone home after the stroke, existing health issues, including lupus and failing kidneys, required a longer hospital stay. Cori is now recovering well, saying she’s “doing great” and has been working to regain some motor skills. She’s optimistic and feels much better overall.

Shailene Woodley struggled with health issues throughout her early twenties. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she explained that she experienced hearing loss, extreme fatigue, and digestive problems. She saw many doctors but received conflicting diagnoses.

Because she comes from a holistic background and studies herbalism, Shailene sought answers by combining traditional medical care with alternative healing methods. This search for well-being lasted for ten years.

The physical discomfort led to deeper emotional challenges, including fear of food, body image issues, and a struggle with her identity and sense of self.

Ultimately, Shailene’s health improved, and she is now feeling very well. She shared that the issues resolved themselves, and she is happy to be healthy again.
