As a huge Bloodborne fan, I’m so relieved to hear that Sony hasn’t completely forgotten about the game! It’s not exactly a sequel announcement, but it’s good to know they still remember the game exists, and that means a lot to us hardcore fans.
Sony Pictures revealed at CinemaCon that they’re creating an animated movie based on the video game Bloodborne, in collaboration with PlayStation Productions and Lyrical Animation.
Popular YouTuber Seán McLoughlin, who goes by the name Jacksepticeye, is also a producer on the movie.
The upcoming Bloodborne movie will be a visually striking, R-rated animated film. According to Sanford Panitch, a key executive at Sony Pictures, it will stay very faithful to the original, beloved PlayStation 4 game.
The game was created jointly by FromSoftware and Sony’s former Japan Studio. It’s a difficult but rewarding action role-playing game, similar to the ‘Souls’ series, but with a uniquely dark and haunting atmosphere.
For years, McLoughlin has passionately championed Bloodborne, frequently calling it his all-time favorite game. He’s built a massive YouTube following over the past decade, with his channel boasting over 31 million subscribers and a total of 17.5 billion views from more than 5,000 videos.
McLoughlin shared on the Bloodborne subreddit that he’s thrilled to finally announce the project.
He promised to create the best possible adaptation of Bloodborne, sharing that it’s his favorite game and he understands how eager fans are for more content. While he couldn’t reveal details yet, he was excited to finally announce the project was underway.
Ever since the game came out in 2015, players have been eagerly asking for more content – whether it’s a revamped version, a completely new game, versions for other consoles, or a direct sequel.
Hearing about an animated movie isn’t exactly the same, but it’s still a positive sign, isn’t it?
