Insomniac Games, a highly productive and acclaimed studio owned by Sony, is nearing completion of Marvel’s Wolverine. However, it seems they’ve already begun working on a new action game featuring superheroes.
Ben Jordan, the actor who portrays Peter Parker’s likeness in the Marvel’s Spider-Man games, recently shared a curious image on his Instagram story, but it’s no longer available.
Of course, fans captured the post before it could disappear, and here it is:
The picture shows Jordan wearing a motion capture suit and striking a pose like Spider-Man shooting webs. The caption, “IYKYK” with a spider emoji, makes it pretty obvious what he’s referencing.
Considering how popular the Spider-Man games have been, and the cliffhanger ending of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, it’s almost guaranteed we’ll see a third game in the series.
Even if what Jordan said isn’t entirely true, it’s likely that work on the project has already started, and probably for a while now.
One question we have at this point is whether the game will be produced for PS5, PS6, or both.
There was a five-year gap between the first and second Spider-Man movies, and the next one will likely take a similar amount of time, or even longer, to develop. This means we probably won’t see ‘Spider-Man 3’ until Fall 2028 at the earliest, which would be after Sony’s new gaming console is expected to be released.
We’re just guessing at this point, but are you looking forward to the next Marvel’s Spider-Man game? Let us know what you think in the comments!
