All the PAW Patrol Characters & Their Dog Breeds

It’s funny how many kids’ shows actually captivate adults just as much. We’ve all been lost in a program, only to realize the child it was meant for has wandered off! This show is definitely one of those, and it’s easy to see why – who can resist watching dogs, whether they’re real or animated?

Now, here’s a real challenge! Can you name all the characters from PAW Patrol? Even better, do you know what breed of dog each one is? Whether you’re helping a curious kid learn about different dog breeds or just want to impress your friends with trivia knowledge, it’s time to become a PAW Patrol expert!

Chase Is Ryder’s Best Friend

Chase is a key member of the team and Ryder’s closest friend. As a 7-year-old German Shepherd, it’s no surprise he’s Ryder’s right-hand pup! Just like real German Shepherds, Chase has a fantastic sense of smell, but he really doesn’t like cats.

Chase wears a traditional brown coat, similar to those often seen on German Shepherds, and has lighter-colored paws and a face. As a spy and police dog, he fits the typical role of a German Shepherd in law enforcement.

Marshall Is an Adorably Clumsy Doggo

Marshall, a playful 6-year-old Dalmatian, is one of the pups on patrol! He’s the team’s firefighter and paramedic, and while he always tries his best, his enthusiasm sometimes leads to funny little accidents.

He has the typical Dalmatian spots, but they’re mostly concentrated on his left side. He’s often the last to arrive, but his adorable appearance makes up for it!

Skye Is Always to the Rescue

Skye is the only female puppy among the first members of the group. As a 7-year-old Cockapoo, she’s full of energy – a typical trait for her breed – and loves to show it off with her famous backflips.

Skye is a Cockapoo with the classic golden coat, and her face and paws are a bit lighter in color. It’s amusing that she works as an air rescue dog, considering she used to be afraid of eagles!

Rocky Wants You to Recycle

Rocky is a 6-year-old dog with a big personality – and a strong dislike for getting wet! He sees himself as the fixer of the group, always ready to help and loves to recycle, making him the handy-dog everyone relies on.

We adore this dog. Being a mixed breed, he has a mostly gray coat with lighter-colored paws and a darker ring around his left eye.

Rubble Looks Tougher Than He Is

Every team of pups needs an English Bulldog, and Rubble fills that role perfectly! This five-year-old is a building pro, but he also loves to spin tunes and DJ whenever the mood strikes.

I just adore Rubble! He has the sweetest look, with a rich brown coat that perfectly matches his eyes, and a cute, lighter beige on his tummy and face. And just like all English Bulldogs, he’s such a friendly guy – he absolutely loves playing and working with the other pups on our patrol team. He’s a real sweetheart!

Zuma Is Ready to Dive In

Honestly, every dog group just needs a Chocolate Lab for the adorable factor, and Zuma is absolutely perfect! He’s a rescue, which makes him even more special, and he’s a total pro when it comes to water rescues – he really shines when he’s helping others!

Labs are known for their love of swimming, and this five-year-old Chocolate Lab is no exception! He has a beautiful, rich brown coat, and with his sweet amber eyes and floppy ears, it’s impossible not to fall in love with him.

Everest Isn’t Just Her Name

Everest is the go-to dog when the rescue team needs help in the mountains. This 8-year-old Siberian husky is experienced in navigating that kind of challenging landscape. Being a husky and having previously lived in the South Pole, she especially enjoys rescues that take place in cold weather.

Everest has made a human friend named Jake since joining her pack, even though he doesn’t enjoy the same tasty treats she does. True to her husky breed, she’s very energetic and doesn’t like being left by herself. Her gray fur has a lovely lavender hue, with white markings on her paws, belly, and chest.

Tracker Will Help You Get Out of the Jungle

Tracker is the youngest member of the main patrol pack. This energetic 4-year-old potcake is a pro at jungle rescues, and his big ears help him pick up even the faintest sounds in the dense jungle.

Tracker is a unique addition to the PAW Patrol – he’s the first member who speaks both English and Spanish! This fits perfectly with his background, as his breed is commonly found on islands in the Caribbean. He’s a brown dog with white markings on his paws, face, and belly, and looks like a typical shepherd mix.

Liberty Is Just a City Girl

It’s hard to resist the charming waddle of a Dachshund, and Liberty is a perfect example. This sweet, long-haired pup has a big personality and used to be a stray before finding her place as a true city dog. While Dachshunds are often a bit independent and wary of new people, Liberty is so friendly and eager to please that she sometimes gets underfoot with the other dogs.

Liberty isn’t formally trained in any specific rescue technique, but her long body helps her reach and assist those who need it. She’s a beautiful dark brown color, with lighter brown markings around her eyes, paws, and nose.

Tuck and Ella Are Double the Help

Tuck and Ella are a pair of Golden Retriever twins with amazing abilities: Tuck can become tiny, and Ella can grow huge whenever they want. As Goldens typically are, they’re incredibly loyal, friendly, gentle, and loving – and these two definitely live up to that reputation!

As a film buff, I’m all about character details, and these two Goldens are no exception! They both have that classic golden-blond fur, with lighter cream patches around their faces, chests, and paws. It’s the little things that set them apart though – Tuck has this adorable little tuft of fur and a brown nose, while Ella sports bangs and a sweet pink nose. But honestly, what really shines is their energy – they’re both typical, playful Goldens and clearly best friends, always looking out for each other.
