Tyrese Haliburton’s health isn’t on the rebound just yet.
Almost two months after Indiana Pacers coach Rick Carlisle revealed that Tyrese Haliburton had shingles, the basketball player has spoken about how he’s been managing the illness.
Tyrese, 26, shared in a video on X that he’s been dealing with a difficult illness. He explained that his father had a similar problem in his stomach during the Finals, but Tyrese’s illness is affecting his face.
“I lost part of my eyebrow,” he added, “My eye is always swollen from itching it.”
After suffering an injury that ended his season during the 2025 NBA finals, the athlete was diagnosed with shingles, a painful viral rash that can appear anywhere on the body, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Tyrese was recovering from a torn Achilles tendon and preparing to play basketball again, but a new diagnosis unfortunately delayed his recovery.
He thought about his ongoing nerve pain and how he had to wear glasses to keep from scratching his face.
The Pacers point guard said his eye was almost completely closed, and his face was covered in something that caused intense itching, according to what he was told.
He explained that he didn’t start itching right away. “I first had a really bad rash,” he said. “The itching didn’t begin until after the rash cleared up, and it’s been awful ever since.”
Tyrese has been dealing with an infection for several months, and he recently explained how much it’s been affecting his everyday life.

He admitted he’s been struggling, saying, “Most days are difficult, and it’s been a really tough time.” He’s been trying to feel better with medication, but unfortunately, it hasn’t helped much, and he’s still working through it.
He admitted he’s gained weight and noticed people talking about it online, but he feels there’s not much he can do about it.
Tyrese is taking a break from basketball to recover, and he’s found it hard to cope with not knowing exactly when he’ll be back to playing.
As he put it, “I hope it goes away soon but there’s no way to really know.”

Okay, so I’ve been hearing from Riley Keough, and she recently shared something pretty relatable! She ended up in the hospital because of a hernia – basically, a little gap that can develop in your abdominal muscles. And the surprising culprit? Tight pants! It just goes to show you, comfort is key, even when it comes to fashion. I always tell people, if something feels restrictive, it probably isn’t worth it in the long run.
She messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “You haven’t tweeted in ages!” She then jokingly added, “I’ve been meaning to tell you… I think those super-tight pants I wore six months ago gave me a hernia, and I’ve been too afraid to say anything.”

After noticing she looked “puffier” during interviews, Schumer was surprised to see doctors commenting on her appearance online. They suggested she might have Cushing syndrome, potentially caused by steroid injections. This prompted Schumer to realize she had been receiving steroid injections for past procedures like a breast reduction and C-section. She suddenly developed stroke-like symptoms, initially unable to respond when Justin asked if she was okay. She then realized she couldn’t speak and the right side of her face began to droop.
Although her speech and facial movement eventually returned, Hailey went to the hospital for tests. Doctors discovered she had experienced a small blood clot in her brain, which they identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack).
Further testing at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). This hole allowed the blood clot to travel from her heart to her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey has since undergone a successful procedure to close the PFO and is now doing well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the rest of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained that the virus affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on one side. He also shared that it had become increasingly difficult to eat.
Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well and feeling much better, adding that they were grateful he was going to be okay. It had been a frightening and unexpected situation, but he was expected to make a full recovery.

He doesn’t remember the next 20 days.
He initially saw a doctor who gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, was worried and took him to the hospital. Doctors discovered he had a brain bleed that led to a stroke.

A hospital scan revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She underwent immediate surgery to repair it, describing the pain as unbearable. During her recovery, she experienced aphasia, leaving her unable to speak coherently.
Though the aphasia eventually passed and she was discharged after a month, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had doubled in size, requiring a second surgery. This procedure initially failed, causing a massive bleed and putting her life at risk. Doctors had to perform a more invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull.
