Get ready to return to the world of The Hunger Games with the new movie, Sunrise on the Reaping! This film will explore the backstory of a young Haymitch Abernathy during the 50th Hunger Games, decades before the original stories. Before it arrives in theaters on November 20th, you can rewatch all five Hunger Games films, now available on Hulu.
Okay, folks, if you’re looking for a dystopian marathon, you’re in luck! As of April 14th, all five Hunger Games movies – from the original in 2012 all the way through The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes – are now streaming on Hulu. It’s been quite a ride watching Katniss Everdeen transform from a girl just trying to survive the Games to the face of a full-blown rebellion. And now, the newest installment takes us back to the beginning, showing us a young Coriolanus Snow and how he became the man we know (or think we know) while mentoring a tribute in the 10th Hunger Games. It’s a complete package for fans and a great entry point for anyone new to Panem!
The Hunger Games Franchise Isn’t Slowing Down Anytime Soon
Thanks to its relevant social and political themes, relatable but complex characters, and honest storytelling, The Hunger Games quickly became more than just a young adult dystopian story – it became a lasting part of pop culture. Over a decade after the books and first movies ended, the franchise continues to be a key example of dystopian cinema and one of the most influential pop culture successes of the 21st century, having earned over $3.3 billion worldwide and consistently receiving positive reviews from both critics and audiences. Best of all, its popularity shows no signs of fading.
The Hunger Games franchise is still going strong after the success of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The latest book, Sunrise on the Reaping, sold 1.5 million copies in its first week and will soon be adapted into a movie. While there’s no confirmation of another book yet, producer Nina Jacobson has suggested that Suzanne Collins may write more stories set in the world of Panem. With 75 years of history and many compelling characters, there are plenty of potential stories to explore.
What’s New on Hulu?
Hulu added a bunch of new movies in April, and this week brings The Hunger Games to the streaming service. Along with the popular series, you can now watch films like The Day After Tomorrow, Monster House, the Shrek movies, and Primitive War. Even more titles will be available on Hulu before the month is over.
