Hailey Bieber just wants to drive her Yukon in peace.
The founder of Rhode addressed rumors that she intentionally contacts the paparazzi, and also explained her unease with how some photographers behave.
She described the motivation behind it as deeply negative, saying it’s not something anyone would willingly experience. In an interview published on April 14th, she found it amusing—and ‘icky’—when people assume she actively seeks out paparazzi attention every day.
The 29-year-old explained that dealing with paparazzi has always been a negative experience, and unfortunately, things haven’t improved or gotten any worse over time.
Hailey, who doesn’t enjoy having her picture taken by paparazzi, has actually found a helpful use for those photos – especially when it comes to her 19-month-old son, Jack Blues, and her husband, Justin Bieber.
She explained that when you know you’ll be photographed, even just leaving the house, you really have to consider how your outfit will look in pictures. She’s learned from experience that something that looks good in person can sometimes look strange in photos, so she’s become much more mindful of this when choosing what to wear.
You know, it’s funny. I’ve definitely had moments where I’d put on an outfit and think, ‘Wow, I feel amazing in this!’ But then, stepping onto a red carpet, under those bright lights and with everyone watching, I suddenly question everything. It can look so different than you expect, and I’ve definitely thought, ‘Oh… that doesn’t quite look right!’ It’s a weird feeling when your confidence shifts like that.
Hailey’s become known for her fashion sense lately, and she’d love to share that with her son, Jack.
She explained to Interview that she prefers dressing her son in comfortable, relaxed clothes – things like oversized sweatpants or jeans with a plain white t-shirt or a comfortable hoodie. While Justin’s team often creates custom clothing for him, she personally likes to keep his look cozy, sweet, and simple.
