After Critics Panned Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Maybe Sony’s Legend of Zelda Film Can Pull It Back

It’s still a bit strange to think Sony Pictures is involved in a Legend of Zelda movie, but that’s the situation we’re in.

The company is teaming up with Nintendo to create a live-action version of the popular action-adventure series.

Sony Pictures has finished filming its latest movie, and is now moving into the editing and special effects phase.

I’m getting really excited about this movie! The actors they’ve cast as Zelda (Bo Bragason) and Link (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) look perfect, and I’ve heard they’re filming in places that are really similar to where they shot the Lord of the Rings films. It’s making a lot of us fans think this could be something special.

Plus, the film is directed by Wes Ball, who previously worked on movies like Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and the Maze Runner films.

While The Super Mario Bros. Movie has earned a significant $629 million worldwide, critics haven’t been very impressed.

The Legend of Zelda movie is scheduled to come out on May 7, 2027, so we’ll have to wait a while to see how it’s received. However, it’s likely that it won’t perform significantly worse than previous adaptations.
