How to beat Feathered Priest Lu Bingzhang in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
For an effortless victory, it would be beneficial if you could acquire the Bone Whistle.
To obtain this item, seek out Nian Suichiang, located along the path leading to the Shu Sanctum, starting from the Lightzen Temple.
Sounding this whistle during the confrontation against Lu Bingzhang will bring forth the creature Nian, diverting his attention and hostility towards it, thus simplifying the battle for you.
In preparation for the upcoming battle, ensure you have essential equipment. Don armor with a strong resistance to Corruption, like the White Specter and Night Specter armor sets, is crucial. Additionally, carrying Purple Camellia for curing Corruption is highly recommended.
Regarding the combat approach, it’s quite straightforward and remarkably similar to our method used against Dhutanga.
To keep a safe distance from Lu Bingzhang, make sure to dodge his long-range assaults like his spear or corrupted projectiles. Stay far away from him at all costs.
In due course, he’ll execute one of several actions that involve leaping or dashing toward you, striking with a powerful blow.
Whenever you notice such an assault coming, swiftly step towards him instead. This positioning will put you right behind him once he regroups, allowing you to then spin around and deliver a powerful strike from behind by holding down R2/RT for a backstab.
This action will catch him off guard. Move towards him until the white cross symbol changes to red, then hit the R1/RB button to execute a retaliation. Pound on him a few times before he rises again, and then keep repeating this sequence!
It’s significantly simpler if Nian is fighting alongside you, allowing you to approach Lu Bingzhang from behind as he attacks Nian, making it effortless to land backstabs. However, even if you fight him alone, defeating him isn’t overly difficult.
To conquer Lu Bingzhang, you’ll be granted several prizes: The Shu Sanctum Key, Mercurial Blood, a broken cane from the priest, an echo of Lu Bingzhang’s spell, and a large amount of Red Mercury.
Or in a more conversational style:
Beating Lu Bingzhang will earn you some cool loot! You’ll get the Shu Sanctum Key, Mercurial Blood, a broken cane from the priest, a piece of his spell, and loads of Red Mercury. Good luck!
