Enthusiasts of Mario Party are in store for a fresh, complimentary treat, thanks to Nintendo Switch Online, to mark the debut of Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV, the latest iteration of Super Mario Party Jamboree on Nintendo Switch. Regrettably, players anticipating a Mario Party game from last year’s collection on Nintendo Switch Online may need to persist in their hopes as this is not the surprise in question. Instead, the new surprise involves both brand-new and returning Super Mario Party Jamboree symbols. The return of these icons is relatively uncommon.
The Nintendo Switch Online icons, unique to this platform, will be rolled out in four separate waves, each lasting one week, until August 20, 2025. This means that new icons will be available every week until then. These icons can be obtained by Nintendo Switch Online subscribers using their Platinum Points. The cost of these icons varies; some might require 10 Platinum Points while others may only need 5. Interestingly, characters and subjects typically cost 10 Platinum Points, whereas backgrounds are available for just 5 Platinum Points. This pricing structure has remained consistent.
With a Nintendo Switch Online membership, you can claim any available icons, but once claimed, they remain in your collection even after your subscription expires. Essentially, the icons are yours to keep, regardless of whether or not your membership is active.
This offer for Nintendo Switch Online isn’t limited to the Expansion Pack tier like some others are; instead, it’s accessible to all Nintendo Switch Online members, regardless of whether they use a Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch OLED, or even future versions like the Nintendo Switch 2.
For the fresh and recurring figures, they encompass characters like Mario, Bowser, Koopa Troopa, Warrior, Bowser, Goomba, Rosalina, assorted Toads, and more. Normally, when Nintendo Switch Online icons are reintroduced, you need to possess the game associated with them. However, this time around, there’s no such requirement.
