With the April 17th launch of Capcom’s new game, Pragmata, approaching, the company has shared a new trailer. Called the ‘Eight’ trailer, it’s a little over two minutes long and gives players a glimpse of the game’s story and introduces a new character, Eight, who is similar to Diana. You can watch it below.
The trailer spends a lot of time showing how Hugh and Diana work together to escape a lunar base that’s been seized by a dangerous AI named IDUS. It ends with Diana confirming she still plans to travel to Earth after their adventure on the moon.
In Pragmata, players will follow Hugh and Diana as they explore a lunar facility and battle robots controlled by a dangerous AI, all in an effort to find a way home to Earth. Before the game begins, Hugh was part of a team sent to investigate why the moon base mysteriously went quiet.
Okay, so Pragmata isn’t just another run-and-gun action game. What really makes it different is that you’re solving puzzles while you’re fighting. The enemies are tough, seriously, they can take a beating. But thankfully, my partner Diana can hack them to make them weaker. Basically, I’m dodging attacks, trying to stay alive, and playing quick hacking mini-games to create openings so I can strike back. It’s a lot to juggle, but it feels really dynamic!
This week, Capcom shared a new trailer for Pragmata showcasing how the PC version will leverage Nvidia’s RTX and DLSS 4 technologies. The trailer highlighted the visual differences with RTX enabled versus disabled, and confirmed full support for advanced ray tracing, including path tracing, which creates more realistic reflections. Pragmata will also utilize DLSS 4 for improved image quality and Multi Frame Generation to boost frame rates, resulting in smoother gameplay.
The recently featured game Pragmata has a well-known developer at the helm: Yasuhiro Anpo. Anpo has been with Capcom since 1996, contributing to classic titles like the original Resident Evil games. More recently, he played a key role as co-director on the successful remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4.
The game Pragmata will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Our review awarded it 9/10, praising its intriguing story and the innovative mix of hacking and shooting. We did note, however, that the main character, Hugh, isn’t particularly compelling. If you’re curious, a free demo is available now on all platforms. Here’s a complete overview of everything you need to know about Pragmata.
