What really struck me was how the show took Blake Crouch’s already fantastic ideas – the dark, complex story and non-stop action – and brought them to life in a way that feels perfectly suited for today’s binge-watching culture. Crouch is a master of fast-paced storytelling, and Dark Matter proves his work deserves a wider audience on streaming platforms. It just fits the current landscape of sci-fi TV.

I’ve been thinking about Blake Crouch, and while everyone talks about Dark Matter and Wayward Pines, I’m here to tell you he’s consistently great. He really nails that blend of science fiction and crime, and honestly, some of his lesser-known books are just as compelling – maybe even more so – than those big hits.
