Sucker Punch, developers of Ghost of Tsushima, have been elusive when asked about the potential for a second multiplayer “Legends” mode in the PlayStation 5 sequel.
In a recent chat with IGN, creative director Nate Fox was queried if Ghost of Yotei might get a multiplayer mode like Legends, either at launch or later. Fox stated that the studio is dedicated to completing the sequel’s single-player campaign to achieve the best quality achievable.
In terms of the Legends mode, Fox didn’t disclose if it’s currently being developed or not. However, here’s their complete statement: [Insert Fox’s full response].

“We absolutely enjoyed Ghost of Tsushima Legends, particularly the cooperative gameplay where friends could join forces, wielding katanas against diverse opponents. It was fantastic! Currently, our primary goal is to perfect Ghost of Yotei and release it to players by October 2. That’s our main focus at the moment.”
Without a doubt, Sucker Punch would officially confirm whether multiplayer is included in Ghost of Yotei on their own accord, not as a result of an interview query. However, the absence of clear information means that fans of the original multiplayer version are still left without a definitive response.
Back in the day, around a month after dropping swords on PS4 in Ghost of Tsushima, came an unexpected reveal – Legends mode! Initially exclusive to the console, it was later offered independently too. This addition transformed my gaming world, offering a multiplayer co-op experience for up to four of us. We tackled story missions hand-in-hand, and had fun exploring Survival, Raid, and Rivals modes together.
At the moment, Sucker Punch Productions hasn’t shared any details about a potential new installment in the Legends series. However, their primary emphasis at this point is on the single-player campaign for Ghost of Yotei, set to release on PlayStation 5 on October 2nd, 2025.
