Booster Gold from DC Comics is finally coming to video games, and the release is just over a month away!
When LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight launches next month, players will be able to play as several different versions of Batman, including a new one called Absolute Batman. This game will also be the first time any character from DC Comics’ Absolute Universe has appeared in a video game.
Lego Batman Will Let Players Take Control of Absolute Batman
As a huge LEGO and Batman fan, I’m so excited about LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight! From what I’ve heard, you get to be Batman and live through his most important stories. It sounds like a really action-packed game with awesome fighting, a huge, explorable Gotham City, and all the fun, quirky LEGO humor we all love.
The Absolute Universe in DC Comics originated after a major conflict where Darkseid attacked the Justice League Unlimited. Though Superman seemingly destroyed him, Darkseid’s mind survived and spread throughout the Multiverse. It took hold in an alternate reality, reshaping it entirely into a world reflecting Darkseid’s will – this became the Absolute Universe.
Okay, so in this new game world, Absolute Batman is a total standout. He’s different from other Batmans I’ve seen – instead of all the fancy gadgets, he’s basically improvising and using whatever he can find to fight crime. It’s a cool change of pace. But the Absolute Joker? He’s got everything, like an endless supply of resources. It makes for a really uneven fight, honestly.
Since its release, Absolute Batman has been a huge hit with both critics and readers. The popular series earned several awards in 2025, and writer Scott Snyder expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you so much. We’re incredibly lucky to work on this book and appreciate all of your support.”
So, I’m really excited because Absolute Batman is happening, and it sounds like DC is planning something bigger! I heard from Chris Conroy at ComicsPRO that they’re being careful about not making the Absolute Universe too complicated – they want it to be easy for new readers to jump in. Apparently, there’s going to be one big event this year, the first one for the Absolute Universe, and it’s coming in the last part of the year. They’re promising it’s going to be a unique experience, done ‘the Absolute way’ – whatever that means, I’m in!
