‘Spider-Man: Brand New Toy’ LEGO Reveals New Look at Hulk & Various MCU Villains

We’re getting fresh glimpses of upcoming movies in many different ways. Because the biggest films generate so much excitement, sometimes the first previews aren’t trailers – they’re actually merchandise created months in advance to coincide with the release.

Following a preview at CinemaCon, new photos of LEGO sets based on the upcoming Marvel movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, have surfaced, giving us a fresh look at the characters and scenes we can expect. The X account, Spider-Man: Brand New Day Updates, shared images of the sets, including villains like Scorpion, Tarantula, Boomerang, and The Hulk. One set depicts a high-speed armored truck chase, and another recreates a New York skyscraper. Notably, the armored truck set provides the first glimpse of Tombstone, who will be played by Marvin “Krondon” Jones III. You can find the images below.

Along with updates on the upcoming Spider-Man movie, fans got a first look at new Hulk toys. These include an action figure, plus Hulk hands and a mask that originally appeared with the 2003 Hulk film. The toys reveal a more classic Hulk design, different from the ‘Professor Hulk’ we’ve seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Avengers: Endgame (2019). This suggests Bruce Banner may struggle to control his transformations in the new film.

Interestingly, the new toy sets don’t reveal anything about Sadie Sink’s character or Jon Bernthal’s Punisher. While Marvel might be hesitant to sell toys featuring the violent Punisher, it seems the decision to keep Sadie Sink’s character a secret was made intentionally, likely to avoid spoilers. Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures appear determined to keep her identity hidden for as long as possible, perhaps until the movie comes out.

Just because characters or items show up in toy sets doesn’t mean they’ll definitely be in the movie. A good example is Iron Man 3, where a LEGO set showed The Mandarin with a giant tank – a detail meant to mislead fans about a major plot twist involving the actor Trevor Slattery. Similarly, even though Scorpion, Tarantula, Boomerang, and Hulk are all included in one LEGO set for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it doesn’t guarantee they’ll all share a significant scene. Some believe Tarantula and Boomerang might appear briefly in a montage, while Scorpion and Hulk could have bigger roles. We can expect to see more toy images released soon, which will likely give us further clues about the movie’s story and characters.
