The new Masters of the Universe movie is coming to theaters this June, and fans got a sneak peek during a recent presentation. Amazon MGM showed off some new footage, including a battle scene with Beast Man. Plus, one reporter saw 20 minutes of the film and shared a surprising moment involving Skeletor that longtime fans are sure to enjoy.
The film opens with the attack on Eternia, a scene we’ve seen bits of in the trailers. This exciting sequence features action-packed moments with Ram-Man, Fisto, and Mekaneck as they defend the palace. Man-At-Arms realizes the royal family needs to reach Castle Grayskull for safety. While fighting off Skeletor’s forces during their escape, they’re blocked by Trap Jaw. Man-At-Arms bravely stays behind to fight him, allowing King Randor, Queen Marlena, Prince Adam, and Teela to continue on. The battle is impressive, but it looks like Trap Jaw overpowers Man-At-Arms, taunting him with “You failed” before the clip ends.
The group finds themselves trapped again, and this time, King Randor bravely steps forward to protect his family, allowing Queen Marlena, Prince Adam, and Teela to escape. He manages to fight off several enemies, but Skeletor proves too strong. This scene showcases Skeletor at his most classically villainous – he imprisons King Randor and then dramatically destroys the king’s statue. When Evil-Lyn arrives, Skeletor triumphantly declares Eternia is his, letting out his signature evil laugh. Annoyingly, no one else joins in, which visibly bothers him, and he leans even more into his over-the-top, cartoonish personality. Thankfully, fans who were hoping to see that classic Skeletor get exactly what they wanted.
Prince Adam Returns To Eternia

The video then shows Prince Adam being questioned by police in the back of a car. This scene is similar to footage shown at CinemaCon, where Adam is explaining that the sword he took actually belongs to him. Suddenly, Beast Man attacks, wrecking the police car and going after Adam, who struggles to fight back. Luckily, Teela shows up and rescues Adam, reuniting with him after many years. She then asks if he’s ready to go home.
The story returns to present-day Eternia, where Prince Adam finds himself imprisoned. While some footage of this scene was previously released, we now see a more complete version. Here, Prince Adam greets Man-At-Arms, Fisto, and Mekanek, and Mekanek visibly reacts as if acknowledging him. Surprisingly, the Eternian heroes don’t seem to recognize Prince Adam, but he clearly remembers them.
The last part of the video shows Prince Adam leading Teela and Man-At-Arms in a breakout from prison. They make it to a bridge where they’re confronted by Trap Jaw. Adam is struggling in the fight until Teela urges him to use the sword. As he picks it up, he has a vision of the Sorceress, who tells him the magic words he needs to say.
Finally, he shouts, “By the power of Grayskull!” and is lifted into the air by a burst of lightning that rips his clothes apart. He transforms into the powerful He-Man, as his uniform materializes and grows to fit his new, muscular form. Prince Adam is shocked by his incredible strength and immediately tears off Trap Jaw’s robotic arm. This new footage gives a clearer sense of the story’s beginning, and we’re excited to see the whole movie in theaters.
Masters of the Universe is set to hit theaters on June 5th, 2026.
