Trecina “Tina” Campbell and Glendon “Teddy” Campbell are going their separate ways.

After over 25 years of marriage, Teddy filed for divorce from the singer of Mary Mary on April 13th, as reported by TopMob News in court filings.

The couple, who separated in June 2024, filed for divorce citing differences that couldn’t be resolved, according to court documents.

Teddy asked for a schedule to spend time with his 13-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son, but didn’t specify who he wanted to have primary custody. He and his spouse also have three grown children.

The drummer for The Tonight Show Starring Jay Leno, who married Tina in August 2000, stated he wants to decide later whether he will pay spousal support to his ex-wife. According to court documents, Teddy and Tina don’t have any shared property or debts to divide.

TopMob News has reached out to Tina’s rep for comment and has not heard back.

The divorce follows a cheating scandal that became public over ten years ago, when Teddy confessed to an affair in 2013. While Tina and Teddy worked through it and stayed together for another year, Tina, who is also 51, has spoken about how much that difficult time affected their marriage.

Tina shared on Steve Harvey in a 2015 interview with her husband that discovering his infidelity was incredibly painful. She described feeling completely devastated and losing control, leading her to act out in destructive ways – damaging three cars, vandalizing property, and even having violent thoughts. She said she did all of this because she was overwhelmed with anger.

She said it herself – she’s been practicing dying, honestly! It’s like she feels she’s either going to mess up living, or truly live it, and everything she’s been doing is all about getting that right. It’s so profound, you guys. She’s working on living right and I’m just…obsessed with the idea.

Teddy also explained his perspective on what happened, including how he came to terms with Tina’s frustration and chose to forgive her.

In a 2017 video on their YouTube channel, Teddy and Tina, he explained that his wife had to forgive him after he was unfaithful. He said that during her anger, frustration, and pain, she reacted strongly – to the point where he felt his life was in danger.

In the end, I even had to forgive her actions,” he said. “I admit I was wrong, and I was already struggling with the fact that she felt justified in trying to harm me. But I realized I needed to choose to forgive my wife for how she reacted. It’s something a lot of men wouldn’t be able to handle.
