Apple TV+ hit a home run with the 2023 comedy series Shrinking. Created by Bill Lawrence, Jason Segel, and Brett Goldstein (of Ted Lasso fame), the show centers around Jimmy, a therapist struggling with his personal life. The show’s clever concept was boosted by the unexpected comedic skills of Harrison Ford, along with strong performances from Jessica Williams, Michael Urie, and Christa Miller, making it a guaranteed success. Though the third season recently aired and many believed it would be the last, the good news is that more seasons are planned. In the meantime, Apple TV+ has already lined up another show to keep viewers entertained.
Apple TV+’s new comedy series is now streaming, with the first three episodes available. Based on Rufi Thorpe’s novel, the show, called Margo’s Got Money Troubles, offers a surprisingly funny yet realistic portrayal of motherhood and a mother’s determination to provide for her child. Elle Fanning (Predator: Badlands) stars as Margo, who unexpectedly becomes pregnant after a brief relationship with her college professor. Faced with the challenges of being a young, single mom, she finds an unconventional solution when her estranged father – a former professional wrestler played by Nick Offerman – reappears in her life. She applies the lessons she learned from his wrestling career to the world of OnlyFans.
The new show Margo’s Got Money Troubles is funny, moving, and easy to connect with, and it’s already become popular on Apple TV. After just three episodes, it’s climbed to number two on the platform’s weekly list, surpassing the latest season of Your Friends & Neighbors starring Jon Hamm, and Season 3 of Shrinking. Currently, the thriller Imperfect Women is the most popular show on Apple TV.
‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’ Could Be Apple TV’s Next Big Comedy
Honestly, it’s still early days to know what general audiences think of the new series. Rotten Tomatoes doesn’t have enough viewer scores yet to give us a real sense of how people are reacting. But the critics? They’ve seen the whole season, and they love it. It’s a really strong positive response from them, which definitely has me excited!
Critics are loving the new series Margo’s Got Money Troubles, giving it a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. IGN praised the show’s standout performances by Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Nick Offerman, noting its fresh take on family stories. TechRadar agreed, saying the series is surprisingly complex and offers much more than typical comedies like Shrinking.
‘Shrinking’ Season 4, When?

You can currently watch three episodes of Margo’s Got Money Troubles, with a new episode dropping each week. The show will have eight episodes in total. After that, fans will be eagerly awaiting the return of Shrinking, but since Season 3 just finished, it will be a while before Season 4 becomes available – there’s no release date yet. In the meantime, Apple TV+ will keep us entertained with Ted Lasso, which is expected to return with new episodes in late 2026.
