Shiro Unlimited and the team behind Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, Funday Games, have revealed Northgard Battlegrounds, a new game coming to PC via Steam in 2026.

Northgard is a strategy game where you build a Viking village and fight against other players. Each building you create impacts your clan’s destiny. Grow your settlement, earn favor with the Norse gods, and lead your warriors to victory – only one clan can ultimately prevail!
Only One Clan Will Stand
Select a powerful clan in Northgard and begin building your settlement on unclaimed territory! Expand your village, develop a winning strategy, gain the favor of the gods, and prepare your warriors for upcoming battles. Compete against other players in asynchronous matches, proving your clan’s strength and defending your lands. Only the most skilled leaders will guide their clan to victory.
Build Your Settlement
Carefully plan and build your village. On each turn, you’ll choose how to expand, collecting resources and growing your economy. The key is to create helpful connections between your buildings and your fighting force.
How you design your settlement is key to success. Build economic buildings close to resources to increase production, construct military buildings to train your army, and create mythical sites to summon powerful creatures for battle! In Northgard Battlegrounds, every building you place impacts your clan’s strength. Careful planning will give your warriors a significant advantage when fighting begins.
Claim the Gods’ Blessings
In Northgard, the ancient Gods continue to influence your clan’s destiny. Select their unique gifts to shape your strategy and change how your village and warriors function.
Strategically combine helpful blessings with your village design to create powerful combinations that will help you conquer your enemies. Each game will be different, and you’ll need to adjust your plans based on the blessings you receive and the choices you make. Every blessing offers a unique way to strengthen your army before battle begins, ensuring no two playthroughs are ever quite the same.
Send Your Warband Into Battle
After each turn, the clans engage in battle. These are fast-paced, automated fights where your planning comes to life. Everything you’ve built – your base design, the boons you’ve chosen, and all your decisions – will now determine the outcome of the fight.
Lead your clan to victory! Build up your forces, conquer your enemies and the monsters of Northgard, and show everyone you deserve to rule. Ultimately, only one clan will survive.
