In the coming days, it has been made clear that the game Project CARS 3 will no longer be available for purchase and its online features will cease operation.
It appears that the game, produced by Bandai Namco and designed by Slightly Mad Studios, may soon only be accessible in offline mode for those who have already purchased it, because the licenses for vehicles and tracks are about to expire.
Here’s the full statement on the matter, as seen on the game’s PS Store page:
Important notice about PROJECT CARS 3: As of August 24th, 2025 at 23:59 UTC, sales of this product will cease. Please keep in mind that times may differ by location. If you own a digital copy of the game, it will remain in your collection and can be re-downloaded whenever needed. Any DLCs (Downloadable Content) purchased prior to August 24th, 2025 at 23:59 UTC will continue to function post-date. Additionally, the online modes associated with the game will stay active until February 24th, 2026.
If you’re keen on playing Project CARS 3 and its additional content, remember that you have up until August 24th to buy them. After this date, they will no longer be available for purchase from online marketplaces as they will be removed from digital storefronts.
Furthermore, the racing title’s online modes will be disabled from 24th February, 2026.
Individuals with the game and its expansions can download and enjoy playing them past these dates, however, starting from February of the following year, they’ll only be able to play it in an offline mode.
It seems that the advantage here is that the game can still be played without an internet connection; this means it will not become entirely unplayable like some exclusively online games have in the past.
Among Slightly Mad Studios’ racing games, Project CARS 3 is the one currently available for purchase, as its predecessors were removed from sale and discontinued in 2022. It may not be the most acclaimed racing title, but it remains an option within the series.
