Windrose Has Sold 1 Million Copies Within Six Days of Early Access Release

Kraken Express, the developer of the pirate survival crafting game Windrose, announced that the game has already sold over a million copies since launching in Early Access last week. The studio expressed gratitude to its players for their support, and highlighted that Windrose reached a peak of over 200,000 players playing at the same time.

The studio announced that Windrose has reached a major milestone: over 1 million copies sold! They credit their players – calling them a team of skilled and courageous captains – for this success. Plus, Windrose currently has more than 200,000 players online at the same time!

The game Windrose is currently playable on PC. The developers, Kraken Express, have stated that it’s still in Early Access and will be actively updated for another 1.5 to 2.5 years before the full version (1.0) is released. They plan to significantly expand the game, with the 1.0 update featuring roughly 50% more content – including new areas, challenging bosses, enemies, ships, and items. The story will be added to over time with regular updates, eventually leading to a complete and satisfying ending. Right now, players can expect to spend between 50 and 70 hours finishing the available story, depending on how they play.

This game is set in a unique take on the Age of Piracy, and focuses on building, crafting, and surviving. Players will experience exciting combat and can explore both land and sea. The world is created using procedural generation, offering diverse environments, and also includes carefully designed dungeons and quests.

In Windrose, you play as a captain determined to confront Blackbeard. The game begins with a realistic story of survival and seeking revenge, but quickly expands into a bigger adventure involving clashes between empires, pirate groups, and strange, powerful forces.

In addition to fighting on land, Windrose features naval combat where quick thinking is key – players must decide when to fire back at enemy ships and when to close in for a boarding attack. Players can also construct and expand their own base, starting with basic shelters and growing into impressive mansions or large forts. They can then hire characters to help develop and improve their settlement.
