Inside Hulk Hogan’s Family Drama With Ex-Wife Linda, Daughter Brooke

Hulk Hogan was an unforgettable figure in the world of wrestling, switching between the roles of hero and antagonist during his legendary career.

And the thrice-married entertainer, who died July 24 at 71, didn’t leave the drama in the arena.

The reality TV show on VH1 called “Hogan Knows Best” debuted in 2005, giving viewers a glimpse into the life of Hulk Hogan and his family, which included his wife Linda Hogan (who had been married to him for 22 years at that time), as well as their children Brooke Hogan and Nick Hogan, who were both teenagers residing at home.

They didn’t mind getting dirty while the cameras were rolling.

While much attention focused on Hulk (whose real name is Terry Bollea) playing the role of a loving father, it was clear that his marriage was struggling, and Linda filed for divorce in October 2007 amid whispers that he had been unfaithful to her with one of Brooke’s friends.

Which turned out to be true.

In 2009, the media reported that ABC News was informed by Hulk’s representative that his marriage was already broken and finished at the time he confessed to an affair.

On Good Morning America that August, Linda expressed, “We put in an immense amount of effort and overworked ourselves to the point where we felt drained of any emotion. We operated like machines, functioning at an unusual level.

The divorce between Hogan and Linda turned into a complicated ordeal. Later on, in 2011, Hulk filed a lawsuit against Linda for defamation, alleging that her memoir titled “Wrestling the Hulk—My Life Against the Ropes”—where she claimed he was abusive during their marriage—contained multiple falsehoods about him. The former couple found themselves embroiled in court battles for most of the subsequent years, primarily over financial disputes.

But Hulk moved on with his romantic life in the meantime, marrying Jennifer McDaniel in 2010.

At the time he announced in February 2022 that he and Jennifer were no longer together, he was already in a relationship with his future third wife, yoga instructor Sky Daily (whom they began divorce proceedings against in October 2021).

In July 2023, he put forth the idea of marriage to Sky, who was significantly younger, and they got married about two months afterwards.

In my quest for recovery and joy, I’ve decided it’s best for me to step back from my family a bit. I’m zeroing in on individuals and elements that mend my heart and resonate with my own convictions, aspirations, and principles.

Her father and she remained distant during the last few years of his life.

In a video shared on Instagram Stories last March, Linda stated, “It’s been at least 15 years since I parted ways with Hulk Hogan, and unfortunately, my family is going through some tough times right now.

The 65-year-old went on to say, “Brooke doesn’t communicate with us anymore. She recently had twins and got married, yet didn’t inform us…There was a major argument with Terry, I’m not sure how it affected our relationship, but she also stopped speaking to me.

The following day, Brooke addressed what seemed like just the tip of a much larger issue when she shared on Instagram that her decision to cut ties with her parents was based on completely different motivations.

“I longed for a normal family,” Brooke wrote, “but it never came to fruition.”

Nick and Brooke Hogan might have experienced some public ups and downs regarding their relationship with their father, Hulk Hogan, particularly in New York City back in 1989. However, it is undeniable that he was a true legend and an influential figure within the wrestling world.

As Nick put it during a 2018 chat with TMZ, “Physically, he’s insane.” 

Brooke, both an actress and producer, had been close to her father for many years. However, in 2023, she disclosed the reason behind her absence at her father’s wedding to his third wife, Sky Daily. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she explained that for her personal healing and happiness, she decided to distance herself from her family, concentrating instead on individuals and aspects that soothe her heart and align with her own beliefs, aspirations, and values.

After their VH1 show, “Hogan Knows Best,” premiered, Nick, Brooke, Linda, and Hulk walked the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards in August 2005.

In October 2006, Nick, Hulk, and Linda Hogan were present as Nicky Brook signed copies of her album “Undiscovered.”

Amid their two-year Hogan Knows Best run, the fam stepped out for VH1’s Big in ’06 fete. 

The family started experiencing tension following the separation of Hulk (real name Terry Gene Bollea) and Linda in 2009, which was evident when Brooke, who had twins Oliver and Molly with hockey player husband Steven Oleksy in 2025, stated in a video shared on her Instagram Stories that she no longer communicates with the family. In the video, Linda mentioned that Brooke got married without informing them, had a disagreement with Terry, and subsequently cut off contact with Linda as well.

Despite mostly avoiding his sister’s disputes with their parents, as seen at the 2010 Comedy Central Roast, Nick remains a “good kid” according to Linda, who revealed this in her Instagram Stories post from March 2025.

12 years after his union with Jennifer McDaniel, Hulk started dating yoga instructor Sky Daily in 2022, having first crossed paths at a Bret Michaels concert. The couple tied the knot in September 2023.

In a Instagram post from June 2023, Hulk, who resides in Florida, shared a beautiful beach day moment with his third wife, Sky. He simply captioned it as, “Beach day with my Sky Baby”. Expressing his contentment, he added that it always feels as if she has been there all along.

As a die-hard fan, over the moon after witnessing Hulk’s incredible performance at the Jake Paul vs Mike Perry fight in July 2024, I was ecstatic when we crossed paths through mutual acquaintances. Since then, I can’t help but refer to him as “the one that steals my heart.
