Pragmata Looks Best on PS5 Pro, Say Tech Experts

Okay, so Digital Foundry just released their deep dive, and as a PS5 Pro owner, I’m thrilled to hear Pragmata is running amazingly well! They’re saying it’s another fantastic experience on the new hardware, which is exactly what I wanted to hear.

Since Sony released its improved PSSR2 upscaler earlier this year, the PlayStation 5 has been outperforming other consoles. This continues to be true with the fantastic new game from Hugh and Diana, just like we saw with Resident Evil Requiem.

Although the standard PS5 performs well, the enhanced version delivers noticeably better image quality.

The game aims for a smooth experience, running at 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second on typical computers. However, it relies on an older upscaling technology called FSR1, which unfortunately makes the image look noticeably blurry and less detailed.

Okay, so I’ve been playing, and here’s the deal with performance. If I want a super smooth 60 frames per second, I have to turn off the ray tracing for reflections. But if I want those nice reflections back, the frame rate drops a bit. Luckily, if I have a VRR monitor, it can help smooth things out and make it less noticeable.

As mentioned earlier, the PS5 Pro significantly improves image quality. It maintains all the features of the existing Resolution mode and uses PSSR2 technology to upscale images from 864p to 2160p.

The final image is much better overall, but the ray-traced reflections appear blurry because of the lower resolution used internally.

I’m really impressed with how powerful the PlayStation 5 is! It has this cool Frame Rate mode that can hit up to 120 frames per second, which isn’t always perfect, but it usually stays within the range where it looks smooth, so it’s definitely worth checking out. The only trade-off is that when you use it, the picture resolution drops a bit to 1440p, but honestly, it still looks great when you’re sitting at a normal distance from the screen.

Overall, the PS5 Pro continues to impress and is clearly establishing itself as a significant upgrade over the standard PS5.
