Another Huge Marvel Star Not Returning in Avengers: Doomsday – Report

The next big Marvel Studios event, Avengers: Doomsday, will bring together a huge group of heroes. However, recent reports indicate that one well-known actor from previous Marvel movies won’t be joining the cast.

Zendaya’s MJ won’t be in Avengers: Doomsday

Sources say Zendaya won’t be appearing in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film. While she’s a key part of the Spider-Man stories with Tom Holland, it seems her character won’t be involved in this particular adventure.

During a recent fan Q&A on Discord, The Cosmic Circus’ Alex Perez discussed the future of certain characters. When asked about the relationship between Peter Parker and MJ in upcoming stories like Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday, Perez confirmed that MJ won’t be appearing in Doomsday.

This news follows similar reports about other original Marvel Cinematic Universe actors. The Beyond Reporter recently posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Evangeline Lilly isn’t currently slated to appear in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie. They also indicated that Natalie Portman won’t be appearing as Thor. However, this conflicts with an earlier claim from a source named MAJESTIC_ucm, who reported in March 2026 that Portman’s character, Jane Foster, would be featured in a scene with an army from Valhalla.

Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has mentioned that the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday will be a massive production, with as many as 30 to 35 actors on set some days. However, despite the large cast, Zendaya, Lilly, and Portman will not be involved in the film.

The next Avengers movie, currently titled ‘Doomsday,’ is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, it’s part of Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will feature a team-up between the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men as they face off against Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.
