As a total movie buff, I was so excited to see the trailer for Practical Magic 2! Can you believe it’s been 28 years since the first one? The original, which came out in 1998, was based on Alice Hoffman’s novel and really resonated with me – it was a beautiful story about the bond between sisters, finding your own power as a woman, and dealing with tough issues like abuse.

For generations, a family of witches has lived under a curse that prevents them from finding love. Now, they’re determined to break the spell by uncovering hidden truths and making sacrifices for one another.

I’m so excited to see Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock returning as the Owens sisters! They’re both fantastic, and I loved the original movie about their family curse – it’s heartbreaking how love always seems to end tragically for them. Now, it looks like Sandra Bullock’s character has a daughter, played by Joey King, who’s discovering all these incredible, but dangerous, family secrets and powers of her own. It sounds like things are about to get really intense for them all over again, and I can’t wait to see how it unfolds!

Joining the original cast are Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, and Lee Pace, alongside Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest. The film will be directed by Susanne Bier (known for “Bird Box”) with a screenplay by Akiva Goldsman and Georgia Pritchett.

I was so thrilled when they officially announced the sequel in early 2025! The teaser really got me excited for its 2026 release, and honestly, I almost cried when I realized Sandra Bullock was coming back to acting after four years away. Plus, seeing the original cast reunite after almost 30 years? It’s a dream come true!
