Coronation Street airs brutal showdown between Debbie and Carl Webster as she orders him to leave in early ITVX release

Coronation Street is set for drama as Debbie and Carl Webster recently had a huge fight just before a series of shocking events, dubbed ‘Murder Week’.

Carl is likely to be the character who dies in a dramatic series of individual storylines, and many viewers wouldn’t be upset to see him go from the show permanently.

Earlier this week, Carl was attacked by his stepfather, Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan), who punched him and warned him to leave Debbie alone and stop trying to get money from her. Carl was hospitalized after the attack and told Debbie who had been responsible.

During the police interview, he claimed to have a poor memory and couldn’t recall who attacked him.

Carl was motivated by money, and he pressured Debbie into giving him half ownership of the Chariot Square Hotel by threatening to send Ronnie to jail if she didn’t comply.

After discovering Carl was blackmailing Debbie, Ronnie begged her not to give in. Debbie felt she had no choice but to turn over the business, fearing Carl would be imprisoned like she was.

Ronnie believed turning herself in to the police was the best way to ensure Carl couldn’t control her anymore.

At the hotel, Carl confidently walked into the bar, immediately drawing attention to himself. He helped himself to a drink and then informed manager Ryan Connor that Carl was now in charge and Ryan’s employment was terminated.

He went to the Streetcars’ apartment after Debbie called him with a firm demand.

She offered him money to leave and never contact her again, but she refused to pay for his hotel. She explained she wanted to remember him fondly, and because her memory was failing, she worried having him around would only remind her of the hurt he’d caused.

Carl was incredibly angry, and in response, she slapped him. He immediately left, deeply upsetting his mother.

Returning to his hotel room, he decided on one last act of spite. He turned on all the bathroom faucets and deliberately messed up the bed.

How will Debbie react when she realises what he’s done?

Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm and from 7am on ITVX.
