Jacksepticeye has admitted he feels a lot of pressure to get the upcoming Bloodborne movie right, not only for himself but also to satisfy the fans.
Earlier this month, Sony Pictures revealed they’re creating an animated series based on the popular game from FromSoftware. Popular Irish YouTuber Jacksepticeye, whose real name is Séan McLoughlin, will be producing the show.
While at the BAFTA Games Awards with the cast of Dispatch, McLoughlin spoke to TopMob Gaming about what he’s excited and worried about regarding the project.
He expressed his excitement that people were talking about Bloodborne again in 2026, particularly after the disappointing news about Bluepoint Games closing down.
Sony expressed interest in remaking Bloodborne, but FromSoftware preferred to handle it themselves. Because of the disappointment surrounding the lack of progress, I’m happy to focus on the positive news we’re getting now and celebrate any advancements.

As you’d expect from someone hoping to make a Bloodborne movie, McLoughlin is a huge fan of the game, and that creates some complicated feelings.
It’s incredibly stressful. Honestly, it’s frightening. A part of me is excited because this game is a personal favorite, and anything connected to it is great for fans and something they’ve been wanting. But another part of me is just worried about whether I can actually pull it off.
Fans of FromSoftware games are incredibly enthusiastic and dedicated, which is great – it really motivates us to do our best work. My role is to keep the team on track and strive for the highest quality, channeling that passion into a game that lives up to the franchise’s legacy and is worthy of the players’ excitement. We want to create something special with them.
“So, all I can say is that I will try my absolute best, and I think we’ll pull off something cool.”

When asked if he’d seek advice from Markiplier, who also became a filmmaker after starting on YouTube, McLoughlin jokingly replied, “No, I want to do this completely on my own and learn as I go.”
Honestly, I’m so impressed with the team he’s built around himself. He even joked that finding the right people is his job, which is awesome! But he also sounded really confident, like he’s totally got this and will definitely make it work. It’s reassuring to hear!
