The popular sci-fi show Silo, available on Apple TV+, has been renewed for a third season, set to premiere in July. Apple revealed the news with a new trailer suggesting the upcoming season will take a fresh direction.
The first two seasons of Silo center around Juliette (Rebecca Ferguson), an engineer who becomes sheriff in a massive underground silo where ten thousand people live. They believe they are the last survivors on Earth, as the world outside has become poisonous after a long-forgotten disaster—or so they initially think. In the second season, Juliette explores the surface and discovers Silo 17, a closed-down silo that’s actually connected to a network of many others. At the same time, unrest is growing back home, and she races back to warn everyone and try to avert a crisis.
I’m so excited for Season 3! We got a glimpse of the past at the end of Season 2, meeting Helen Drew and Congressman Keene, and it seems like we’ll be spending a lot more time there. The show is really going to dive into how the world became the way it is now, and I can’t wait to learn the backstory. Even Juliette says in the trailer, “Before we can know why we’re here… we need to understand how it all began.” You can check out the trailer to get a taste of what’s coming!
Returning from previous seasons are actors Colin Ferguson, Steve Zahn, Common, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Shane McRae, Remmie Milner, Rick Gomez, Billy Postlethwaite, and Clare Perkins. The show will also introduce several new faces, particularly in scenes set in the past. Joining the cast are actors Gil Zukerman, Naomi Scott, Laura Innes, Jessica Brown Findlay, Morven Christie, Reed Birney, Matt Craven, and Colin Hanks. We’re getting a first look at some of these new cast members in recently released photos from the upcoming third season.

As a big fan of the show, it’s honestly a little jarring to see so much greenery and natural light! Usually, everything takes place in these really tight, shadowy spaces. But the creator, Graham Yost, actually told us way back in January 2025 that this season would be different – that we’d be getting outdoors, seeing more of the world, and, yes, even sunshine!
As a huge fan of Silo, I’m so excited about where the show is going! It’s closely following Hugh Howey’s incredible Silo book trilogy. The first two seasons really brought Wool to life, and now Season 3 is diving into Shift, which is a total shift in time – it’s set hundreds of years before we even meet Juliette and the others! They’ve already renewed the show for Season 4, and I’m expecting that to cover Dust, bringing us back to the future timeline we all love. It’s going to be amazing!
Season 3 of Silo arrives on Friday, July 3rd. New episodes will be released weekly on Fridays, continuing through September 4th. Just like the previous seasons, the new season will have a total of 10 episodes.
