I’m so hyped for Godzilla Minus Zero! It’s going to continue the story from what I think is one of the most terrifying versions of Godzilla ever made. The director, Takashi Yamazaki, is back, and he’s building on the amazing world he created with the first film, which even won an Academy Award! The best part? AMC Theaters is bringing Godzilla Minus One back to the big screen this summer so we can all experience the beginning of this new chapter together. I can’t wait!
I noticed that Godzilla Minus One is coming back to AMC theaters starting May 22nd, and it’s not just for one night! It looks like kaiju fans will have several chances to see what many are calling the best Godzilla movie yet, according to both critics and viewers. There’s a chance we might even see the black-and-white version, Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet. If you can’t make it to a theater, though, the film is currently streaming on Netflix. You can find tickets to pre-order on Fandango if you click here.
What The Future Holds For Godzilla

The first trailer for Godzilla Minus Zero came out earlier this month, revealing a lot about the new movie, even though it was less than a minute long. One major change from the first film, Godzilla Minus One, is that Godzilla is now heading towards the United States. While the previous movie focused solely on destruction in Japan, it appears this sequel will show Godzilla becoming a worldwide threat.
Director Takashi Yamazaki recently told Collider that Godzilla’s trip to the West, specifically his arrival in New York, is a crucial moment for a particular character and ties into the significance of the Statue of Liberty. He also explained that the film will feature both English and Japanese dialogue, with some Japanese characters speaking English, because the U.S. military will play a central role in the story. He couldn’t specify exactly how much of the film will be in English versus Japanese.
The new Godzilla movie, Godzilla Minus Zero, will be released globally on November 3rd, letting fans everywhere see it right away. Although we know a lot about the film, many questions remain about what destruction Godzilla will cause this time.
