Denise Richards Breaks Silence on Ex Patrick Muldoon’s Death

Denise Richards will always keep Patrick Muldoon close.

The actor known for Wild Things, who had a relationship with a former star of Days of Our Lives in the 1990s, recently shared memories of their long friendship after his passing.

It’s incredibly difficult to express how much I’m hurting right now. I recently lost someone incredibly special, and it’s truly broken my heart. They weren’t just a friend, they were family – my best friend, actually. The pain of losing them is just… overwhelming.

In a heartfelt message, she also reminisced about the start of their personal and working connection.

We first met in acting class – I was 19 and hadn’t worked as an actor yet, while you were 21 and already a student at USC with a role on Who’s the Boss. And now, 36 years later, I realize you’ve been a part of my entire adult life. Our friendship was built on unwavering love, support, respect, and loyalty – something truly special.

She continued, saying he had an incredible presence and instantly brightened any space he entered. People were naturally drawn to his larger-than-life personality. He was a remarkably talented, yet often overlooked, actor, and incredibly humble. Everything about him – his laughter, kindness, humor, strength, loyalty, passion, and love of life – was contagious and uplifting.

Denise, who has three children – Lola Sheen (20) and Sami Sheen (22) with her ex-husband Charlie Sheen, and Eloise Joni Richards (14) with ex-husband Aaron Phypers – recently shared how a deceased actor supported her during difficult times.

She said they’ve always supported each other through everything. They share so many wonderful memories, and she feels incredibly grateful for his unwavering loyalty and protection. She’s truly worried about how she’ll cope without him, especially after a particularly difficult year filled with sadness and hardship. He’s been her guiding force and a constant source of strength.

She continued, saying she needed him now more than ever, heartbroken by the loss. They had always imagined growing old together, living long lives. She said she’d be searching for signs of him, needing to feel his presence still with her. She expressed her deep love and how much she missed him.

Following the death of Melrose Place actor, who passed away on April 19th due to a heart attack, as his sister Shana Muldoon-Zappa shared with TMZ, the daughter of his former partner, Denise, also expressed her feelings. She revealed she had always hoped they would get back together.

In an April 20th Instagram post, Lola shared a throwback photo of Patrick and Denise, writing, “When I think of my mom, I think of you two.” She expressed her gratitude for getting to know them and seeing their genuine, special friendship blossom.

She said she used to tell her mom they’d get back together, and laughed about how she begged her to believe it. But she admitted that being just friends turned out to be a good thing after all.
