What Kimora Lee Simmons’ Husband Is Seeking in Divorce While in Prison

Details about Kimora Lee Simmons‘ breakup with estranged husband Tim Leissner are coming to light.

According to court documents obtained by TopMob News, Roger Ng filed for divorce from Kimora Lee Simmons on April 20th while he was in prison, serving time for his role in a financial scandal in Malaysia.

The former Goldman Sachs banker, who married Lee Simmons in March 2014, indicated a separation date of “TBD” but actually signed the divorce papers on February 4th. This was just two days before he began his sentence at a federal prison in Pennsylvania.

After 12 years of marriage, Roger Leissner, 56, has filed for divorce from Kimora Lee Simmons, citing “irreconcilable differences.” In his filing, Leissner requested shared legal and physical custody of their 11-year-old son, Wolfe.

He’s requesting financial support from the Baby Phat founder, including help with his legal bills. At the same time, he’s asking the court to stop paying alimony to Lee Simmons.

Regarding their divorce, Leissner asked the court to let him keep everything he owned before the marriage, including any money or property he’d earned up to that point. He also wants to keep anything he received as a gift, inheritance, or through a will, along with any income from those items, as well as his personal belongings like jewelry.

According to Leissner’s statement, there are other assets and debts not currently accounted for, and their specific details are unknown.

TopMob News has reached out to Lee Simmons for comment about the divorce but hasn’t heard back.

The 50-year-old, who has two adult daughters with her former husband Russell Simmons and a teenage son with ex Djimon Hounsou, hinted at her split from Leissner in a December interview with TopMob News. She mentioned having gone through several changes in her life, including jobs, careers, husbands, and investments.

In May 2025, Leissner received a two-year prison sentence. During the sentencing, he apologized for his role in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal, a case where U.S. officials believe $4.5 billion was stolen from a Malaysian state investment fund designed to boost the country’s economy.

He apologized to the people of Malaysia, telling the court he was truly sorry for what he had done, according to Reuters.

Leissner is scheduled to be released on Sept. 29, 2027, per prison records reviewed by TopMob News.

In Kimora Lee Simmons‘ house, she’s the mom, the dad, the president and the CFO.

Describing her family of seven, the designer playfully compared it to The Brady Bunch, but added, ‘without a husband,’ in a preview for her show, Back in the Fab Lane.

Kimora is a dedicated mother to a large and blended family. She shares daughters Ming and Aoki with ex-husband Russell Simmons, son Kenzo with Djimon Hounsou, son Wolfe with Tim Leissner, and son Gary, along with a close relationship with Jayden, whom she considers a bonus son. In a 2025 interview with TopMob News, she explained, ‘I’m very protective of my kids, and I’m always there for them, no matter what they need or what challenges they face.’

Ming, the oldest of five children, was born on January 21, 2000, to Kimora and her then-husband, the famous hip hop artist Russell Simmons.

Ming went to NYU and, like her mother, is now working as a model.

The founder of Boulangerie Beauty shared with W Magazine in 2017 that she essentially grew up in the fashion industry. She recalls walking the runway with her mother and sister after every Baby Phat fashion show in New York, and having been in commercials with them since she was a toddler. She’s now reflecting on how unique and valuable those early experiences were.

Kimora and Russell welcomed youngest daughter Aoki on Aug. 16, 2002.

Beyond her work as a model, Aoki is also a gifted student. She was admitted to Harvard University at the remarkably young age of 16 and earned her degree in 2023.

Oh my gosh, when he finally finished, Steve Aoki told People he felt grateful, proud, and relieved – and he said it in that order! It was just… so amazing to hear. He said it felt totally surreal to be done with something that had been such a massive part of his life for so long. And then he said, just like any other graduate, he was ready to move on to whatever’s next. I was seriously tearing up, it was such a perfect moment!

Kimora and her ex-partner, Djimon Hounsou, have a son named Kenzo, who was born on May 30, 2009. Kimora has explained that Kenzo’s name means “third and wise” in Japanese.

Kenzo, now a 6-foot-9 teenager, is a rising star in two very different worlds. He’s a talented basketball player at his high school and has also appeared in an advertising campaign for the clothing brand Eve.

Kimora had been thinking about adoption for years, she told Us Weekly. In 2020, she happily welcomed 10-year-old Gary into her family.

She described her family as large and boisterous, explaining that she’s constantly being called on for help. ‘Everyone’s always yelling for me – ‘Mom, help with this, do that!’ – constantly, ‘Mom, mom, mom!’ she said. She felt her son easily fit into the energetic atmosphere of the football team because it reminded her of home.

Kimora welcomed her youngest, known as “Wolfie”, into the pack on April 10, 2015.

As a mom, it’s just flown by! I recently shared on Instagram how I can’t believe my son is already ten years old. It feels like yesterday he was a baby! Seeing him grow into such a smart, funny, and silly kid makes me incredibly proud every single day. It’s a bittersweet moment, watching them reach these milestones, especially navigating co-parenting as things have changed with his dad, Tim.

Kimora isn’t Jayden’s biological mother, but she raises him as her own son, calling him her “bonus son.” She also shared on Today with Jenna & Friends in December 2025 that she acts as a mother figure to several other children, providing support and guidance like a parent.

“I have my kids, and then I have kids on the side,” Kimora noted. “I’m a lot of people’s mom.”
