Ubisoft is planning to remake another one of its older Assassin’s Creed games. They’re currently preparing to launch Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, a rebuilt version of the 2013 title Assassin’s Creed 4. While rumors have circulated for a while, this remake is now expected to come out in the coming months. Beyond that, reports suggest Ubisoft is also working on another remake, but information about that project is currently limited.
Insider Gaming reports that Ubisoft is currently working on at least one more Assassin’s Creed remake. The specific game being remade isn’t known at this time. This remake is part of a larger plan for several more remakes Ubisoft may create in the future, depending on how well Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced performs. If Black Flag Resynced is successful, both critically and commercially, Ubisoft likely plans to release more remakes of older Assassin’s Creed titles.
Which Assassin’s Creed Game Could Be Remade Next?
It’s great news that Ubisoft is planning more Assassin’s Creed remakes, but it’s unclear which game will be next after Black Flag. Many fans consider Assassin’s Creed 2 a favorite, making it a strong possibility. However, the story in AC2 connects closely to the original Assassin’s Creed through the character Desmond Miles. If Ubisoft intends to remake the Desmond-focused games, it would probably be smartest to begin with the very first Assassin’s Creed.
Beyond the remakes, Ubisoft intends to keep making new Assassin’s Creed games. The next major installment, currently titled Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe, was first revealed in 2022. While details have been limited since then, Hexe is known to be set during the 16th-century witch trials and will feature more horror elements.
