The release of the new James Bond game, 007 First Light, is almost here! Developed by IO Interactive, the action-adventure game is launching in a few weeks, and we’re starting to see more marketing around it.
The studio has just dropped a new trailer showcasing the game’s stealth mechanics, gadgets, and overall systems, which are very similar to those found in the Hitman series. This comes after previously unveiling the theme song and opening sequence.
Check it out:
IOI is famous for creating immersive, stealth-focused assassination experiences, and that same skill is clearly present in 007 First Light.
While the game features action-packed combat and driving, it also promises missions where you can experience the thrill of being a secret agent, just like James Bond.
The trailer shows you can get past guards and enemies by distracting them, pretending to be someone you’re not, and using conversation to unlock new possibilities.
You’ll also find a lot of useful gadgets – tools cleverly hidden as ordinary items – that will help you sneak past enemies or take them down.
The video also mentions that you’ll be back at MI6 and have a chance to reconnect with other characters.
The game also features training missions that act as challenges. Successfully finishing these missions unlocks upgrades, making your gadgets more powerful.
It’s clear IOI is applying what they learned from the Hitman series to their new 007 game, First Light. They’ve hinted at plans to add more content after launch, suggesting they’ll support it with updates much like they did with the Hitman games.
The game will be released on May 27, 2026. Are you looking forward to playing 007 First Light? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
