Patrick Muldoon’s Sister Shares Last Video He Sent Before His Death

Patrick Muldoon’s memory continues to live on.

Just days after actor John Muldoon passed away from a heart attack at 57, his sister, Shana Muldoon-Zappa, posted the last video her family received from him.

Shana shared a video on Instagram from April 22nd showing Patrick at the opening preview of the new Los Angeles County Museum of Art, taken the night before he passed away. She explained he had sent the video to their family group chat.

The actor from Melrose Place drew attention to a 1622 painting by Domenichino Zampieri, titled Saint Ignatius of Loyola’s Vision of Christ and God the Father at La Storta, and then spontaneously began singing a song he learned while attending Loyola High School.

Shana realized her brother admired St. Ignatius because he seemed like a fun-loving person who still managed to live a holy life. This, along with a chant her brother used in high school, made Shana think of how much joy he brought to everyone.

She described him as someone who always makes people laugh, but also has a remarkable ability to be fully present. He’s a talented artist, a former football player, and a deeply spiritual person, shaped by his Jesuit education. She considers Patrick Muldoon her best friend and the ideal brother, son, uncle, or anyone else could hope for.

She added that she’ll share more soon, knowing he cherished the world and everything in it. She feels he’s receiving all the love and positive energy being sent his way, and that energy is now surrounding everyone.

Shana said her family will share plans for a memorial soon, but they are still grieving his unexpected passing.

I still talk about him as if he’s here,” she explained. “Because I feel his presence everywhere. It’s like he’s simply transformed into something new.”

Shana wasn’t the only one sharing cherished memories of her brother. Denise Richards, who dated Patrick in the 1990s, also honored her Starship Troopers co-star after he passed away on April 19th.

Denise shared photos and videos on Instagram on April 21st, expressing how difficult it was to describe her grief. She wrote that she was heartbroken and devastated by the loss of her best friend, who she considered family.

The 55-year-old woman shared that she and Patrick first met in an acting class 36 years ago, and he’s been a significant part of her life ever since.

She went on to say, “I wouldn’t be who I am without you.” She described their connection as a uniquely unconditional bond of friendship, love, support, respect, and loyalty.
