There’s simply no bad blood between these two.
Okay, so everyone’s been buzzing about drama between Janet and Jermaine, and honestly, it was stressing me OUT. But thankfully, La Toya finally cleared things up! She was at the Michael premiere in LA, and she just…set the record straight. It was such a relief to hear it from her directly, you know? I’ve been following the Jacksons forever, and this whole thing was just getting messy. So glad La Toya spoke up!
La Toya Jackson assured Entertainment Tonight on April 20th, at the premiere of the Michael Jackson biopic, that everything was fine. She emphasized that viewers should believe her.
In Michael—which hits theaters on April 24—Jaafar Jackson, son of Jermaine, plays the King of Pop.
The movie tells the story of Michael Jackson’s rise to fame as a solo performer, following his years with his brothers in The Jackson 5. The group included Jackie Jackson, 74, Jermaine, 71, Marlon Jackson, 69, and Tito Jackson, who sadly passed away in 2024.
Michael Jackson’s sister, Janet, doesn’t appear in the new movie about his life. La Toya Jackson says Janet was asked to participate in the film, directed by Antoine Fuqua, but she declined.
I recently learned from La Toya that someone extended an invitation, but they’ve respectfully declined. It’s so important to honor people’s decisions when they say no, and that’s exactly what we need to do here.
La Toya Jackson hinted that other family members might appear in a possible sequel to the Michael Jackson biopic, but she wouldn’t give a definite yes or no answer.
She wasn’t certain, telling ET that it was a question best directed to the people making the movie – the producers, director, and studio. She did express hope that it would happen.

Although Michael Jackson’s estate supported the project and his son, Prince Jackson, was an executive producer, his daughter, Paris Jackson, has publicly expressed her criticisms of him.
La Toya has spoken highly of the biopic, and specifically praised Jaafar’s performance as her brother.
She told TopMob News’ Will Marfuggi at the Los Angeles premiere that she loved the movie, calling it “absolutely fantastic.” She added that the actor perfectly portrayed her brother and she was very proud.
